I dunno, personally I'd rather trans people, their allies, or anyone from a marginalised group felt comfortable using the forum. If that's at the expense of losing a few right wing edge lord's that's fine by me.
I agree that a lefty echo chamber is no use to anyone but I'd rather the conversation on here was more diverse because a wider range of people use the forum, not just because a load of ignorant blokes are able to spout off narrow minded bollocks unimpeded.
Tbh, beyond just not being remotely funny, the offensiveness of those memes was quite mild but why put up with someone who's clearly signed up just to wind people up?

You have said that before, can you give an example of memes that are problematic in regards to protected characteristics ( race ethnicity gender identity gender etc) that were accepted because of the way forum leans?

Sure lots more salt towards perceived racism and right wingers but political views and racist views are not protected by UK hate crime laws.

(In theory...Boris Johnson be banned pretty soon with his letterbox / immigrants treat UK too much like their own views)

I use the ignore button for that, it's more granular than insisting that everybody I disagree with should be banned.

The "characteristics" which are "protected" are carefully selected by people with a particular political outlook. If you don't buy into the whole identity politics bullshit, you're not going to hand pick other "characteristics" to "protect" in order to find something to be offended by.

People who complain about "protected characteristics" seem to be from a carefully-self selected group from a very specific demographic.
