@EB exactly. We struggled to get through the first couple of episodes because they’re all cunts and the treatment of the animals is horrific. But the craziness sucks you in and the last episode completely flips it and redeems it all.

I didn't watch Tiger King because I thought everyone it was a massive legend. I also didn't watch Cronenberg's "Crash" because I get a bonk on every time I see a car accident.

By mrJL's logic 'Crash' should have paused every five minutes, cutting to a PSA where a person in a white coat helpfully explained that car crashes are actually bad for you.

I do see the argument that the horrible animal abuse was definitely secondary to the wacky, awfully dressed sociopaths fucking each other over. It was fairly heavily glossed over.

I think my sarcasm has come across as some Mary Whitehouse handbag waving moral indignation. And the caged-life of the animals coming across as fine isn't the facet of the program I think isn't highlighted as bad, I should have made that clear in my reply to @atz. It's obvious and it speaks for itself.

The missed oportunity mentioned in the op ed that I agree with is the lack of challenging the subtler things in that show like breeding animals like that in captivity is the best solution to them facing extinction in the wild. Which some people could easily think is true.
