Not a real meme, but people still use this type of map. It's even used by Google maps. The world doesn't look like that... Just look at the size of Greenland! It's huuuuuuge!

It's impossible to depict a sphere as a 2d image without distortion (or fucking it up in some other creative way). Neither of those are correct, they're just wrong in different ways. They're also wrong in similar ways, such as the poles being as 'wide' as the equator.

Folk travel around it all the time. But no one travels over the top or undertake bottom. They always stop at the pole.
