Why can't god-botherers spell?
It could be that my Dad was right in one of the few (I believe) profound things he said: 'religion is for people too stupid to understand science or politics'.
god botherers sounds bit like people poking god with a stick saying "do some magic!" rather than christians
stupid people is stupid regardless of religion

I agree with your father Colin and too many people confuse between religion and spirituality.
To be in well in sheep community one must, above all, be a sheep.
Be what you are.

If people turn up on my doorstep wanting to talk about either of these things, I tell them to fuck off.
Also, what is the difference then?

There's a school of thought (panspermia) that certain advances in life on Earth are due to influences from outer space. I've never heard of it being equated to intelligent design though.
well, we are stardust

I feel animosity in your question, am I wrong ?
Come on is not complicated, you only have to open a dictionary. What is most important is that we cannot say.
Seek the cause of the cause and please let your heart be your words.

Does anyone actually do this?
Any rational person must entertain the possibility otherwise you are just has deluded as Mr Ham there. Out concept of 'God' and tinkering (or even 'starting') of terrestrial life by extra terrestrial intelligent entities may actually correlate in some way.
We humans are already on the brink of mastering biology to fit our own whims, in a mere 50,000 years of being around in our current state. With the practically infinite nature of space and time, it is hard to see it as anything other than 'certain' that there is multiple forms of intelligent life/self awareness out there, and sufficiently sophisticated enough to create biology and perhaps also transcend the limitations of time and space itself.
Would earth having an encounter with such an entity, any time during its history qualify as there being a 'God' by golly I think it would.

Religionists believe in one or more supernatural gods. Scientists might entertain the possibility of a creator entity, but its existence would make it, by definition, natural.

We humans are already on the brink of mastering biology
For some very limited value of 'mastering'
the practically infinite nature of space and time
For no commonly accepted value of 'infinite'. The universe as it is possible to experience from here, i.e. within the event horizon of the big bang, is both tiny and young compared with infinity.

'Do you rule the universe?' said Zaphod.
The man smiled at him.
'I try not to,' he said. -
• #56093
I do. It would just be nice if there wasn't so many vapid cunts around to spoil it.

Bieber and Hannah Montana should make babies so that Madonna can adopt them when they end up in rehab or OD.

Its like me telling you vehemently that the colour orange is actually green, and that really Oranges should be called Greens. The fact that I'm a designer, so quite good with colours, doesn't make this statement any less batshit
!Dude, colours are like very subjective thing. There are some names some people made up to name some things we see more or less sometimes, dependent on the angle like. The real problem is immigration. And Illuminati.
