We humans are already on the brink of mastering biology to fit our own whims, in a mere 50,000 years of being around in our current state. With the practically infinite nature of space and time, it is hard to see it as anything other than 'certain' that there is multiple forms of intelligent life/self awareness out there, and sufficiently sophisticated enough to create biology and perhaps also transcend the limitations of time and space itself.

Would earth having an encounter with such an entity, any time during its history qualify as there being a 'God' by golly I think it would.

Religionists believe in one or more supernatural gods. Scientists might entertain the possibility of a creator entity, but its existence would make it, by definition, natural.
