Yeah, I get that reaction every time I see the rape report and conviction statistics as well. You'd think an act so horrifying for the victims would lead to pretty hefty legal sanctions, wouldn't you? But it hardly ever does. It's almost like rape is socially acceptable, in fact.

A good example is what jayloo said on this matter;

Don't forget the research being done with male college students in the States that has them answer No to "Would you rape someone" and Yes to "Would you have sex with someone without their consent".

That "rapists" are not just nasty, slimy men in dark alleys but might be themselves, their friends, their relatives because many people don't understand the full meaning of consent, how to obtain it and how not to act when they haven't had true consent. Stubenville, Maryville, gang rapes in India, laws that say a woman's testimony isn't valid unless corroborated by a man, the pitifully low rate of convictions in rape cases, all of those thing show that society condones, accepts and expects rape to happen.

You may have noticed that we no longer have a ”meet the staff” page. Following a rise in visits to our website and mentions of the company through certain media channels in relation to our recruitment policy, we have chosen to remove it from the website indefinitely.
We took this decision **in consultation with our staff **who are rightly concerned about being posted around the internet by people making inaccurate and inappropriate comments about our staff and our recruitment policies. The “meet the staff” page was designed for our clients to put a face to the name of the people they deal with here and now that page has been taken out of context we feel it is no longer appropriate.

It's funny because we were debating at work whether their meet the team page was really that bad, or if it was just unfortunate. There are othe industries which have a high number of women and if you were having professional photos then would they not all probably be well presented and look attractive...etc.
