Not sure if you guys have been following the social media fallout from the most epic Kitchen Nightmares episode of all time but this woman has got to be meme of the week.
You can watch the episode below. (Not recommended if you have high blood pressure.) I would try and explain what happens in it but there's no real way to put it into words... After it aired people flocked to the company's Facebook page looking for answers. This is what happened next.

I have heard of that, wondering what's going on in those video, they claim they were hacked and the FBI looking into it, hah.
-
• #44856
the 'hacking' was people tagging rude things into their photos because their privacy settings were wide open.

Actually, they're claiming everything Amy wrote on Facebook was the work of a criminal hacker. A revelation that coincided with the hiring of crisis PR specialist Jason Rose (you may know him from such evil employers as The Arizona Republican Party, Mitt Romney and Sheriff Joe Arpaio.)

Whoah, I'd been following that but only just watched the episode now. Is this the restaurant equivalent of a vanity record? Rich husband indulges in wife's fantasy to own a restaurant...?

It's so much more. Some of the other stuff:
The restaurant is run by a woman who thinks she can speak cat language and her ex-gangster husband. They are the worst people alive.
Their food is bad but if you point this out the owners will scream at you, threaten you with physical violence and throw you out of their restaurant in a torrent of verbal abuse. Alternatively, they make spike your food to try and make you ill. You must also wait over an hour for each dish.
They confiscate all the tips from waiting staff. Waiting staff are not permitted to handle money or use the tills. If they question any of this they are immediately fired. Kitchen porters must also wash the owners' car.
They sell store-bought food as home made with a huge mark-up. Pasta, cakes, you name it. In fact, they constantly lie about every aspect of their operation. The things they make themselves are woeful.
Unhappy customers are dismissed as 'haters'. A growing chorus of bad reviews online has convinced the owner's that they are the victims of a smear campaign because their food is above criticism (even from Gordon Ramsey).
They are bullies. They bully their staff, customers, critics and even have a pop at intimidating GR.
But none of this goes even halfway to explaining Chef Amy. She has to be seen to be believed. The Facebook posts are pretty representative of her general manner but I can only recommend that you watch the show. People have started to uncover a few things about her online too - for instance, she served jail time for a fraudulent loan she obtained on someone else's social security number. She is horrific.

It is not uncommon for people who have been relatively successful, enjoy cooking and have an interest in food to plunge their life savings into a restaurant.
The behaviour exhibited by the arseholes in that tv show is an extreme version of the behaviour that many of these people will resort to. This is because they have a fundamental lack of understanding of how the restaurant trade works, and when their dream goes wrong they are confronted with the very real possibility of losing their nest-egg.
I have worked in places similar but not as extreme as that, sadly the owners often employ someone who is capable of turning things around but will never listen to them as they have their heads buried too far in the sand.

And they agreed to go on the programme... why?

^The guy said it at the beginning. They thought that Gordon Ramsay was going to come and tell them that their food and restaurant was amazing and essentially hand them a mother-load of free publicity.

That guy is amazing, when he gets angry he talks like Al Pacino in Scarface. I'm surprised nobody's been kneecapped by him.
