I pronounce it as "memes"

Richard Dawkins apparrwntly coined the term. It's pronounced the same as genes.

But genes has a 'g' and an 'n' and memes has an 'm' and 'm'. They are different letters, why would you pronounce them the same?

Obviously 'm' is the same as 'm', but that's the same word so doesn't count.

Obv, rusty is saying it rhymes with genes... In my head I say it like the French word meme as in meme chose. But've been corrected often and apparently it should be pronounced to rhyme with Nimes in France... C'est la Meme chose que moi. (That doesn't really work does it?)
