They've used Google satellite images, seen in oblique 'aerial' mode, for the before photos, which makes the buildings look flatter than in the after photos.

Also, these buildings are only a few centimetres above the water level and only a few metres from the shore... what were they expecting? It seems obvious that they'd flood at some point. And in image 4 they're all still standing! WTF!
