  • I try not to admit to being in to that stuff. I was 10 though so I think it is (nearly) ok. It dose scare me though when I see the things I used to paint. After years of drinking my hand is no where near steady enough.

I let slip my past to colleagues the other day and haven't lived it down.

I knew I had to kick the games workshop habit when i started making my own scenery. I showed a friend my latest creation (just some pebbles on some polystyrene which i had flocked) conversation something like this

him: ermm yeah thats ok but have you painted those pebbles
me: yes I wanted to make them look more like boulders
him: what paint rocks to look more like rocks?
    me: ermmmm yes
him: you need to sort your life out

  • I had warp spiders once for christmas! They were awesome. Think I still have a Vindicator tank in my loft randomly, might get it down..

  • It is quite strainge. I had forgoten all about it untill that picture was posted. Somewhere in my mums loft are two armys and a bloodbowl team. I dread to think how fat and pasety I would be now if I was still into it. I would definatly not have a girlfreind either.

Blood bowl was a great game.

  • Oh fuck, yes it was fun, but I always felt wrong inside. Probably from the glues/solvents and melting plastic fumes. I passed a shal remain nameless shop in Salisbury this weekend and felt happy at having no desire at all to go in, not even to find a back issue of White Dwarf for 50p...

  • Ha, where abouts in Salisbury are you from? I used to leave near there (and went to Salisbury college).

  • I just swatted a fly, and it's body flicked off the wall and straight into my bin. WIN

  • I was born in Salisbury, but used to live out towards Whiteparish, but only for a very short time! I had forgotten how nice it is, seriously considering escaping the smoke of London for it, also has reaonable cycling provision. I was happy to pull several skids.

  • I used to drive through there every day from Southampton to Salisbury for work. It nice out there. Some really nice riding through the New Forrest. I lived out in Shrewton the other side. Salisbury plan is a bit bleak for cycling. Good for mountain biking though.

  • Do you know if there is still a Porno shop next to the station? I didn't notice it and was rather dissapointed that it might finally have been forced to move!

It was still there last time I went. I will point out that I wasnt looking for it but the red pvc suit in the window stands out a bit.

You still have it? Which team? Painted or plain?

Played a game last Saturday in a sunny park with lots of beer.

I've two Pro Elf teams (one plastic, one metal), Human team, Orc team, Necromantic team, Chaos Dwarves and Nurgle's Rotters. And some odd Goblins and Skaven.

If your team is something other than the ones I listed and if you ever feel like selling, please, let me know.

  • Not a meme BTW...

  • 'JESUS USE ME'

    As a draught excluder.

  • Well, yeah, kinda.

Add some facial hair, cigarettes and alcohol. And ditch the female.

  • Fighting battles? Do you mean rolling dice?

    /former eldar

Eldar FTW. Still got my shoddily painted prism tank.

have a painted dark elf team and unpainted undead team plus a few star players. not gonna sell though as too much of a good game to get rid of.

  • Don't mock the Tri-Force, Mistah... Just sayin'...

We started again after a bit of a pause and usually play a few games every week. It has been fun although I dread we will kill this game (as we have done to so many others) by playing it too often.

And Dark Elves I've never understood. Okay: AG4 and AV8 across the board, but that's it--no bash, no pass, no dodge. I guess if you survive the first matches you've enough SPPs to evolve and progress, but still.

I leave the DE for better coaches.

  • This never fails to raise a chuckle.

  • I try not to admit to being in to that stuff

Me too. To be fair, I only liked painting them, I found the actual games themselves frustrating and tedious and ended up inventing my own rules. Playstation 1 quickly distracted me from this acne-ridden, clammy-palmed, virginal hobby

yeah, I think i just bought them cos i thought they were cool. fml. played a bit with undead and remember them being either amazing or so frustratingly slow. Humans I think were my favourite team

I've played pen-and-paper RPGs and GW stuff for more than 20 years, so there's really no denying what I do. My bookshelves are a giveaway, too.
