it keeps running until you reboot, I had a red faced user come to me yesterday saying she tried to speed up her machine by following some apple support group advice on facebook, haha it gave me half a days work but ive never laughed so much ;) ..I also told her that if she deletes system32 on her windows machine, this will also not speed it up!

-rf = recursive (all sub directories and files), force (no comfirmation)

/* = root directory, and everything in it, so every file on your system

Basically it is a command to delete every file on your system, with no checks or confirmation.
