looks like abouth half of the LPc has already vote, anymore????
-
• #31
Looks mostly cut and dried already, except for poll 6! Which is against giving a place in the euro's to the top team, but only because of the people that voted for more than one place!
I don't think any of the out of town teams were actually going to play, but it's a shame that people have voted against them, what a bunch of grumpy gits!

Not grumpy, just wouldn't be able to commit to that. If playing in this league meant committing in advance to travel, I wouldn't play the league.

The date the league starts is the only poll I don't think should go to the majority. If 40% of votes go to date A but 60% are split between dates C & D then surely the start date should be later rather than sooner?
I agree. As well as with the Euro entry issue.
Anyway, good job, V.

Rik, that's very kind of you, it happens so rarely... I'll bask in the glory of rightness for a moment :-)
I thought the assumption was they would have to come to london for every game (albeit that some teams would be willing to make a trip) it is the london league after all...
In fact one of the rules is all games are supposed to be played in one of the relatively central courts of downham/souths etc? Obviously a bit stupid if two wests teams are playing, but I don't think any of the west teams expect you lot to make it all the way out west, so why cambridge would expect you to come to them I don't know.
-

I would like to second the idea that no east/south team will make it west. Just so you guys know. ;)
-
• #37
The new court in Hurlingham Park really isn't that far West.
-
• #38
yep, i'd fully expect east/south teams to make the trip west if needed
-
• #39
Come West. It won't kill you.
That grass tournament was further west than our current court.
-
• #40
of course, i think Mark was just teasing

kebab kid by hurlingham park ftw!

Where does it say that?
The only thing I can find is that the home team decides the court and has the responsibility of making the games happen.
Nothing about specific courts. Of course east and south teams will have to go west for a west teams home game.

Maybe we should have a tourney in Uxbridge so Mark can see what going West really means
-
• #44
Nobody would go. Not even the westies.
-
• #45
ja!
-
• #46
I think Uxbridge is disqualified anyway due to not actually being part of london ;)
-
• #47
shhhhhsh we have a tube station, as long as no one looks at the postcode it will all be ok.
-
• #48
ed, just be glad there wasn't a poll asking if wests could play in the london league! :-)
-
• #49
I'm surprised there wasn't judging by the tags in the league threads :p

I was thinking the same when I fisrt move to Watford: "yes, it is London, it will be fine"
This poll happens if we decide to time the games. Otherwise there is no draw if games are untimed to 5.
