  • if only i'd have got into cycling as a kid. i think i've missed my calling.
    short. gobby. egotistical. angry.

if only i had the talent.

  • I know. I used to (try to)be a sprinter. I've dealt with it. I just like arguing, especially with Lance fans.. :)

Yeah, I blame my height for lack of success.. I wasn't short enough

  • I like arguing too, especially with Cavendish fanboys.

  • lack of height is something i've got an abundance of.

  • Dibs if you'll split some of it.

  • Hondo's a pretty good sprinter and he's about 6'4". Petacchi isn't exactly short, either.

    Touche! :)

  • my lack of height is only available in shimano.

Nah.. we're talking proper good.. not good sometimes ish kinda good..

  • Zacchery. Yesterday.. no train.. Cav quits. Thor got boxed in a bit when Cav moved over and Petacchi had already made his move.
    exactly.

  • yeh but Cav would have had an extra egg for breakfast on the 14th stage if Thor had got second place in the third intermediate sprint two days before and with that extra egg inside him he'd have won a seventh stage. And it's no use telling me Thor would have had more muesli if they hadn't run out of milk; he's a pro, he knows he needs to check the fridge in the morning.

  • On of the best sprint stages of recent years I one of the reasons I rate McEwan.
YouTube- Cycling: Tour de France 2007 Stage 1

was this when he crashed mid way through stage and was out the back door. if so, awesome ride.

  • Yup, crashes with about 25k to go, you see his team trying to get him back on the back of the pelaton. You then don't see him at all in the last 10k until he pops up woth about 400m to go then goes on to win it.

He then retired the next day as the injuries he sustained were so bad.

  • I knew him when he was a young lad, sucking strangers cocks to pay for inner tubes and sunglasses

You kill me every time! Dats bare jokes.

  • I'm holding radio silence on this thread now, peoples.
I'm at work, so won't see the stage until 10.30pm.

Hippy, my friend, have that twenty pence ready.
It might not seem much to you, but it's a week's rent up here in Leeds.
    And it's mine.

I'll make sure and PM you updates... :P

I made the same bet with my workmate but for 30p.. life on the edge man.. I'm a born risk taker!

  • How many sprints has Cav won coming off a non-team wheel compared to when his leadout train is in place?

Not many, but he has won some. You are spot on with your comments - his winning margins last year were down to his lead out train. Mckeowan is the master when it comes to winning without a train - no other contender to that title.

  • live stream now on veetle.

  • ... while Cancellara is now replacement brother to Schleck.

Nah, the replacement will be Jakob Fuglsang (GC#26 +2:58)
Young, but rather complete! Strong, long lasting, awake and a winner type.
When everyone else is sliding on the slippery road, Jakob jumps the bike out into the forest and brakes there (2007 U23 mountain bike champ).

I would love to have a frame and a set of wheels like these!

  • The rambling chat on Eurosport reminds me of the shite that we guff about on here. Banging on about NOS leather straps right now. Lolz.

  • flat, slightly down hill day. they are so bored they're talking about foxes eating toe-straps and an old saddle. rofl!!

  • haha, double post.

  • Here's some more information for all the stat fans amongst you: Jurgen van de Walle is the hardest working of the trio in the breakaway. He has spent 48% of the time on the front, compared with El Fares (28%) and Gutierrez (24%).

So that's 48k (the break has been going for 100k) at around 40kmph... Chapeau Jurgen

  • Been looking for that link that someone (andyp?) posted that shows the groups on a google map? Anyone?

I tried UTFSing, but I failed.
