  • +1 J-man. It was awesome to see the race breaking up into loads of different groups in the last couple of stages.

  • Anyone else set a personal best on the commute home, after watching yesterday's stage ? Been a great TdF so far.

  • There doesn't seem to be enough praise of this man

24 years old, in his second Tour de France came in 2nd on an incredibly tough cobbled stage to take 2nd over all. He sat on one of the best cobbles riders wheels and for a momment I thought he might even jump Thor on the line for the win.

    Tidy!

    Loving this years TdF

Had myself a bit of personal time trial to Bow after the prologue, then after stage 2 decided to hold back the other riders in the ASL box in protest to the dangerous road conditions on the course to Holborn, and yesterday gritted my teeth as I rode the 10m of Pave through Westminster.

hmmm I have noticed that there are some very enthusiastic cyclists out and about at the moment. All I can say is that their bike handling skills and reading of the road do not match their enthusiasm.
    :)

  • wiggo for podium, you can't be serious!? contador and evans, yes.

wonder if cav is still a bit tender after crash in switzerland. would be good to see him ride well.

Brilliant performance by Mr Thomas. I was impressed by Cummings's work in the breakaway too.

For the Brits the next three days are all about Cavendish.

Then its all about Wiggins and Millar in the GC.

He needs to do alot over the next 3 days. Thor looks determined as ever to take the green.

  • I think Geraint will do all right in the GC as he'll be marsalling Wiggo on the climbs and he should do all right in the next TT, top 25 come Paris I recon.

Wiggins did well yesterday to stay in the Contador group and make up some time over of the others. It's gonna be great come the mountains with Lance, Menchov and Basso all slipping down yesterday I think they will all be on the attack to try n claw time back.

    :Rubs hands together:

  • I predict (hope for) a lone Millar breakaway at some point too.

  • I predict (hope for) a lone Millar breakaway at some point too.

    it'll never happen*

    *it will very probably happen

  • Glad I pop round to LMNH to watch the Tour, it was awesome yesterday, especially on clobbered road.

  • you are fucking priceless Ed - Clobbered Road made me chuckle

  • Worlds most appropriate typo.

  • never ridden on pavé Ed?
    you should try it sometime.

  • I always hope for a Voigt breakaway.. Not sure it'll happen though. He's been beasting himself for the Schlecks the past couple of stages

  • I don't know Voigt is a pretty big hitter.

  • Pretty easy, just nip down to Borthwick Street in Lewisham, or even do some circuits of Covent Garden.

The city centerwhere I live is cobbled + really fecking steep in places.

Turns all your joints to putty, and makes cornering a lottery. I cant imagine riding on it in a tight group.

  • There's loads of cobbles down at Limehouse.

    Them be real bone shackers.

  • i'm not so sure all the crashes are worth it
yes it has been a good interesting tour but is it just me or are there more and more crashes in each tour over the last few years
as a kid i am sure i never saw the same amount of crashing as there has been in the last two
crashes deciding the tour rather than the riders ? should they make it safer ? wet weather tyres ? better handling bikes ? smaller peleton ?

  • It's because they have a false sense of security due to having to wear helmets now, and therefore ride like twats.

The only reason the UCI haven't enforced hi-viz is because it makes it harder to spot the yellow jersey.

  • Bernhard Kohl was a bit of a nodder mind.

  • ...especially on clobbered road.

    lolotomy!

Even better, ride next year's London Classic.
