rob, is that just a 35t size bash guard, or 35t chainring included?
-
• #3729
Yep, the chainring and guard is machined as one 'unit' - you can kinda see it on the pic here (although the pic is of the newer version)

I'm only just a beginner and want to swap frames as mines a bit too nice to die playing polo. I know they're a really cheap build as complete bikes but how solid is the frameset? -

I thought it'd be heavy. I'm not too bothered about the brakes as I'm riding a road frame and only have calipers to use. Weights an issue cos im riding between 8&15m to play. Geometry needs to be tight, I don't wanna be going backwards. Think a small pompino is gunna be in order. I'll keep saving! Thanks for getting back

Pompino is a great frame to start on, buddy. On my second now and for what it costs, you can't get a much better frame to start on.
-
• #3742
They are currently on sale for 99 quid frame only.

Eighthinch Scrambler is way better than the Pompino and the same money. The geometry is great for polo.

Cheers all for your input. The Tra fix on
eBay is what I can afford but I've been talked out of it. I've been riding a lg pomp that's a tad big for a year now and am right impressed but it's not going nowhere the court. I've ridden a sm pomp an think the geo's right fo me on court. Pomps 99, then forks, headset and bb, that'll take it to 150ish. I'm gunna have to get another 95 together so thinking see If I can't get a go on a scramblers the right size to suss out what's best for me. -

You probably right, but I ain't findin any sm pomps 4sale 2nd hand. My road bike is a lg pomp that I've cold set to 135 and put an alfine 11 hub on. I can't fault it for commuting but it's far too big for polo. As I said before my budgets tight, was looking at the coyote at £55 for f&f wi bb& headset. The pomp is 99. If I get a complete bike I'll end up just hoarding all the surplus bits and trying to squeeze more bike into a space that getting too cluttered
Aaaaargh dilemmas.
What's cheap, strong, has a nice tight geo without vertical dropouts.
Till I've a wad o cash I'm gunna keep wi wot ive got, unless anyone wants to swap a lg pomp frame proffesionaly coldset to 135 wi a sm pomp frame so I can have my cake and eat it!!! -

Mis-read, nevermind.

Also, are you sure you want a small one? They really are tiny and have a lot of toe overlap. If you're reasonably comfortable on the large one then a medium would be better for polo.
