I've got one of those for sale for £5!

I'll have it then.

I'm selling my brakeset, £10.
Rear BB7, a little wobbly but works very well.
Avid Arch Rival front V brake. Right hand limit screw hole is threaded, there's a wood screw doing the job at the moment which has worked for me. Failing that just over extend the metal arm and it does the same job, pads are fairly new. It's this Sandy, hence £5. Still works really well.

does anyone have a knackered 160 disc rotor and some torx bolts in their parts bin?
Need to weld the disc tabs on my new forks.
thanks

max i have one, kinda unhelpful but could bring it down next time im in london?
-
• #3308
I've got a rotor but no bolts.

I'll give it a miss if the adjustment screw is missing, ta though

you can just use standard m5 bolts, they don't need to be torx. Should be easier to find…

It's the limit screw. It threaded so Nik put a bigger screw in. It's works fine and as I said failing that, just extend the metal tension arm, does the same job.
-
• #3312
it's threaded, not really worth my while tbh.

• #3313
sorry, my post above was in meant for max
-
• #3314
Yeah good point dt, joni could you bring the rotor when you come to collect lever?
Thanks

Does anyone have a Flite and/or SLR saddle which I could try out a for a bit? (notforpolobike)
Also, to those who have Halo Aerowarrior rims, is it ok to brake on them? I would like to use a v-brake, but their site suggests it's not ok..
-
• #3317
IIRC aerowarrior rims do have a thick sidewall just the same as a machined rim, but obviously it just hasnt been machined.
i never ran a brake on mine but i reckon it should be fine.

I was worried about that too as they seemed softer than my other wheels but my rims seem to be fine so far. Rear is second hand polo and front is brand new - this took time to 'break in' due to the anodising but I'd done it before on my non-machined fixed wheelset. The only thing I will probably do is upgrade my pads as I'm worried about wear... hmm did the site mention anything specific or just generic warning?
-
• #3319
Fairly generic...
Brake Notes: Aerowarrior rims are suitable for disc or hub brake systems. Anodised colours can also accept “occasional light use” with caliper rim brakes if required.
Note :Anodising and Lazer logo will become soiled with any rim brake use.Important: Do not use V-brakes or Cantilever brakes on these rims.

Chain reaction are doing a price drop thing. 10% off footwear every 24hours at midday until friday.

^^ Classic. Sounds more aesthetic than mechanical, can't think why it's an issue off the top of my head and plenty of other players using them...
-
• #3322
My thoughts exactly. Halo are just another generic rebadger of Taiwanese product as far as I can tell. I can't imagine they'd go to the expense of using thinner material on the non-machined ones. I used mine for about a year, on the back, and I'm heavy, and now MG has it and it's fine. And I've seen several others using brakes on them.

good point, thanks

They're the same rim as the Aerorace but without the paint machined off. Braking might be unpredictable on the paint, easy enough to clean off as I did with my polo wheel.
Maybe mine if I buy Max's.
Or, Max, wanna swap for a PS2 and stuff?

Or cash.
