  • Back to Usain Bolt. He's set for life now. His appearance fees alone, will be maybe £1,000,000.oo or more, and maybe factor in 1 million again for each world record at the gran prix athletic events. Or, he could be contracted to a bonus of half a million each time he goes below 9.71 for example.

Sponsors will kill each other to get their names associated with him. The boy done good.

Note that 2 of the top 3 sprinting nations are Jamaica, and Trinidad+Tobago.

  • There should definitly be some summer cross country skiing. I see guys doing this in the summer months when I'm out riding. I mean riding fixed down long desents is fun/dangerous, but these guys (and gals) take the biscuit.

  • not so good at the bobsleigh though are they !

A result of hundreds of years of the slave trade.

Puma have done really well keeping him.
I think they have quite a few new promotions in the pipeline in the next year so even more cash monies.

This was only published on 22 July 2009 and I think it could be one of the understatements of the 21st century.
I really do believe this guy is once in a lifetime, if he get's it down to the 9.40's that'll be it for a a few generations at least.

Was it that long? Look how times flies when you're having fun eh?

  • Why did you have to bring up race GA2G? Serious question.

  • It was a race. He won.

  • Oz rep coming your way.

  • Oi!

    more fox hunting

  • Superprecise, doesn't race come to mind when watching 100 meter sprint finals? I mean, there is an absense of Indians and Eskimos for example. But just as its worth noting, its also worth making fun of. What else can people do?

er, do you mean 3 of the top 3: Trinidad and Tobago!

He's capable of doing 9.4 he doesn't want to get there just yet, he wants to mop up as many bonusues as possible along the way, he'll probably break the record at least another three times until he reaches his ultimate best time.

  • Loved the result.

Hated the pre-race bit. Bolt now well known for his posturing/show boating while being accounced. No one else ever use to do it, all were very focused.

Now every single one of them (apart from Dwain Chambers) is at it. WTF is that all about. Bolt can do it cause he's far and away the best sprinter. The rest of them are just jumping on the band wagon.

As for Chambers he needs to get a refund from his pharmacist. 9.97 on drugs, 10.0 without them. Wasn't worth the hassle. Tell Mr. Ferrari you want your money back ;)

Gay was 2nd. He race for America, unless I've missed something?

  • Winston, are you black? I've lived and gone to school in Trinidad, but can tell you that the country is called The Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. Its one country, and one nation, just two islands.

Dunno, it hadn't really occurred to me to be honest. It's hardly news that black people excel at such sports. Was it the first athletics event you've watched?! ;) Just seems provocative to go on about it when all people want to do is discuss and celebrate such an amazing achievement.

  • I lament the fall standards in the teaching of Geography in Great Britain.

    Yes

  • Just seems provocative to .........

Hang on, this is the famous Lfgss is it not? "Provocative" you say? Where is Pistanator to get my back......

Is it not obvious from my avatar and profile pic?

  • Hopefully, thats all now cleared up, regarding my reference to countries, that include more islands within the same government.

  • Is it not obvious from my avatar and profile pic?

Never checked your profile. Sorry, it seems a bit remiss.

  • Anyway, Bolt will need a fast track and a good tailwind to get to 9.4, he ran balls out last night on a fast track with a +0.9 and Tyson Gay on his shoulder, conditions are rarely so favourable.
