wow. average speed was pretty much spot on. looks like a good route.
-
• #80
I'd be up for joining you next week for a similar ride.
-
• #81
Thanks Tash. Great ride and a tasty route to boot.
Shame about the mechanical but it wouldn't be me if I wasn't bleeding so it's all good. -
• #82
fuck i wish i'd seen this thread a few days ago.

that's very cool. thank's all for the ride!

did a surrey hills loop with three other grupettos. we left RP late tho. was hoping to catch you guys over at box hill caf. we were there about 1130.

• #85
maybe an idea Saturday morning ride club? SMRC....
start 8 finish at 1 - routes planned by who ever volunteers. 17mph. gears optional but you should probably wear black if you want to fit in. -
• #86
black lycra and gears suggested
-
• #87
was a really fun ride, only just had enough left in the tank to get me home after i left you guys at Clapham. really nice to meet you guys and thanks to Tash for leading the pack.
-
• #88
When I got home, my computer said 86 miles, and exactly 17.0mph average. Just as well I pushed the pace a bit on the return leg, or we'd never have achieved our target.
Shame about the mechanical; and the headwind; and the wanker Surrey drivers.
Props to Tash for pulling it all together.
Nice ride, but I fucking hate Surrey, apart from the bit on the Kent border.
dj - stop yanking on yer fucking brakes. Just sit up, drift out from behind the wheel, and catch the wind. That is all. (apart from 'don't antagonise apoplectic twats in cars'.)
Erm, I'm drunk.
-
• #89
Oh yeah! That driver at Clapham Common, just after JimboJones left us. That man needs a headstone, not a car. Fuck me :O
-
• #90
why did you miss out the hard climbs?
:-)
-
• #91
There were no hard climbs. Box Hill fucks me off, with it's pathetic gradient. It's so much harder for pure climbers to get their jollies on rubbishy sub 10% gradients with headwinds.
I managed though :p
-
• #92
Can I just reiterate - the wind was fucking horrible out there today.
-
• #93
tru dat
-
• #94
htfu bmmf. you're lucky to have those slight gradient on your side...'us' (you not included) pure climbers were bored with you heading off the front.

Good... that other people thought so too, I was nearly in tears of frustration with it halfway down the a10 and couldn't work out if it was actually fucking horrible or if I was just being a loserwimp.

The bit of Surrey on the Kent border is alright. I think of it as Kent though.
My hill training is a solitary affair, I'm afraid. I tried spreading the love last year. It seemed to work for everyone except me :*(

i stand corrected you may not be a hipster...but i'm sure that hipsters were impacted by te winds on the a10!
That was a good ride today. Sorry I had to shoot off in the other direction after Boxhill, I do have a nice new phone now though!
Whens the next one?
