They're tubular wheels, could be cause for more confusion and more unnecessary threads.

In the description it says the rims are tubular, I am mightily perplexed.
**- Rims: Black anodised in lightweight alloy, for use with tubular tyres
**EDIT: To be fair I'm just plain wrong, you get the same rim description for the tubular wheels.

Anybody want to open the over/under book on when the OP gets bored with his new toy and puts it in the for sale forum?
-
• #34
Of course, there's only one wheel set which will properly match the bling factor of Record cranks and Royce Ti BB

My understanding is Clincher:

Tubular**:

Apologies. It appears I fucked up in my eagerness to accuse others of doing likewise. I am sending myself to bed without supper.

Miche Pistards are insanely heavy... They suck
-
• #40
Disagree. Phils and Goldtecs probably double the weight of Miche hubs.
-
• #41
yeah the phils are heavy, but then it's where the weight doesn't really matter as it's in the centre of the wheels.
-
• #42
I have run Miche/Condor hubs on Open Pros, I think with the Miche Pistards the rims are heavy as fuck.
-
• #43
yeah the phils are heavy, but then it's where the weight doesn't really matter as it's in the centre of the wheels.
Then why do Tune, Cosmic, Bora and Dura ace (to name but a few) bother to make light hubs? -
• #44
I don't know to be honest, all I know is that the hubs weight often make little difference, do you know why they need to make light hubs?
-
• #45
Because we all want our bikes to be lighter than a bubble?
-
• #46
Open Pros are light, but you can't build them with 24 spokes. Pistards win on aero, and there are no hills on the track so aero is everything. If it wasn't, every medal would be won on <500g Lightweight front wheels, not the >750g Io
If you're going down the Pistard route, though, go all the way and get Mavic Ellipses

Hey BlueQuim, maybe if you tried harder at school and got a better job then maybe you too would have an extra few quid to spend on something you enjoy. I am 39 yrs old, married with a 9 month old boy, both my parents are unemployed and I earn a decent living selling software to jerks! Get your facts right pal before aiming a little misguided sarcasm my way! I happen to really enjoy bikes, is that a crime or could there be a little hint of jealousy - understood?
You're going to need to develop a thicker skin that that if you're to get the most out of this forum. Sarcasm is endemic here, because we meet up a lot and know each other in real life. Had you read the introductory post that tells you to use the search function before asking a question that has been asked and answered many times before then you might have a less sarcastic welcome.
I'm not sure why you'd expect me to be jealous of you, especially as give the information which you have given out already I have precious little to be jealous of. If you check your own facts and do a little more searching (yes, that pesky search again) on this very forum you can find enough about me, my age, what I do, what bikes I have, etc, to know that your little rant was a bit silly.
