  • 32 is ideal for general commuting

  • As long as the build isn't wank - which is the same for any hole count.

  • Just worry about the wheelbuilding, they make a big difference really.

  • thanks peoples!

  • Hey Sleepy

    goldtech even better than Phils?

    Andy (Pink)

  • no

  • hubs r ok. just dont buy the lockrings they are v flimsey/ shite.
I had one crack tonight, it was slipping - on further inspection it had about 9 hairline cracks in it. all ready to shatter....

  • fair enough, the main issue i've had with goldtec is the supply. not that long ago their machine operator got ill and production was majorly disrupted :/

hmm.. not sure you're saying this - is this a possible reason for the errant batch? shame if a guy's illness is behind the problems.

  • The On-One hubs come without lockring and nuts mind (unless I was unlucky).

  • mine had nuts, but no lockring

  • mine had nuts, but no lockring

    same here

  • mine had both, chi-ching!

  • on-one periodically sell their hubs at this stoopid price.. buy now and enjoy a good budget wheel if you get the chance, even if it's just for a spare rear wheel. like horatio said, suitable for most people's needs and by no means the worst option. as far as i'm concerned £15 rear on-one hub + £20 open sport rim + £15 dc spokes = £50 of win.

and an additional £5 lockring, £15 cog, it's still £120 of win in the end (wheelset).

  • It seems I was robbed.

  • for general commuting? sorry lack of info in first post. looking to get these and rims at another time for a conversion i've got sitting in the bomb shelter.

Even a body builder like yourself should be okay with 32 hole wheels.

  • they're for 'er indoors.
    edit:
    bodybuilder?
i'm just fed up of looking at linguine arms.

  • dropped On-One an email asking where their hubs are sourced, but no reply as of yet. I decided to go with them anyhows and got 32 high flange in silver front and rear £35 inc P&P.

Any suggestions for rims-most of the roads where I live, have massive potholed; scraped, speed bumps and also a 2m cobbled section of road before each junction...Damn bumpy shitty raods and all that council/road tax paid.

  • ^ dunno 'bout rims, but I have similar roads and I tell ya, I'm regretting swapping my Gator Skin 28's for 25's - I can feel my fillings loosening by the day.

  • yeah man most of the back streets roound here look like the opening scenes of Coronation street-big massive fuck off uneven cobbles. im gonna wear a bubble wrap gum shield!

  • I just ordered a set of these 32hole in silver. Can't resist a special offer

  • Yeah, already have a rear wheel built onto an on one dbl fixed hub and its taken me through a scottish winter without missing a beat. Just purchased a pair to build up a new wheelset.

  • For that cheap they're worth buying to practice wheelbuilds on. Love it.

  • ^ s'what I'm doing

  • for that price it's worth a go
do they do 40H hubs ?

  • No 36 hole is the most spoke holes me thinks, you could always check their web site
