  • i'm gonna kick the wolf man in the nards.

Sure you want to take on the Help The Aged posse?

  • paid entry?
    trophy?

not sure about the paid entry. It would likely discourage some team from entering but then again it would make the teams that do enter take it more seriously. How much d'you think would be a fare price?

the trophy idea is good. Something we can keep for a long time and add the names of the teams that win it each year.

  • And retroactively add BAD.

    £15/team?

  • What happens to the monies?

  • What about live feed filming of the league so that the world can watch?

  • It gets spent on Beer.

  • Can we get Addlestones to sponsor the league please?

  • Fuck yes!

  • could go towards the end of league party, or just go to the LHBPA

  • i thought this had been discussed and voted against already, that the LHBPA has nothing to do with the league?

  • I'd like to help work on / design a nice trophy.

  • i thought this had been discussed and voted against already, that the LHBPA has nothing to do with the league?

indeed but that doesn't mean that if the league was to generate money, then that money shouldn't go to the LHBPA (i'm not suggesting it should, just that it could). Any money given to the LHBPA would of course be spent on the london polo scene in some form or other.

  • yep, i understand that dave, and I am not against the league generating some money. Some can go to the lhbpa, some to the end of league party (which the LHBPA could volunteer to throw!).

Would the LHBPA be happy to administrate entry fees?

  • i thought this had been discussed and voted against already, that the LHBPA has nothing to do with the league?

    Sorry to ask, why?

  • If the league was lhbpa sanctioned, it could possibly be that all players would be insured (helmets may be required). This would mean that all players would need to be lhbpa paid members, a seperate entry fee for the league which would go to the lhbpa bank account to mostly be used on the insurance, the above mentioned trophy and end of league party/bbq ('free' food/drink for players?).

If this was the case, it would still be owned by the players because they were all lhbpa members.

I feel this is a big step and I'm not sure if we're ready for it.

  • exactly mike, it's a big step, we're not that organised yet, and personally I like the haphazardness of the league. If it all becomes very regimented, it could have negative consequences!

I don't see why we should pay £x.xx to turn up on a winter's evening and play a game of polo with 5 other people and a ref. It should be for the love of it more than anything...

  • And retroactively add BAD.

    thats nice. :)

i would like todd to design something too.

  • I'd be up for designing a logo for the league

Yea, I feel that keeping polo going throughout winter is the biggest benefit of the league. This will benefit the lhbpa as much or more than entry fees.

But, the possibility to start an organized league is there. We just need to make sure the lhbpa can afford to renew the insurance next year and the next and the...

Bring on more tourneys and more BBQ's!!

  • Also, I feel the league should not have a standing in the 2010 Euros.

  • +1 some money in the pot would be good, so people dont have to fork out of their own pockets.

LHBPA Stickers, patches, tees, balls, tap-out points, general court admin, blow up dolls, list goes on...

    Balls!

    +1000!

  • She wrote the letter, but I don't know whether the council wrote back.

Never mind that, Matt, what we all want to know is whether Black Rebel are going to be more of a polo club this season, and less of a posing club, as they were last season.

    Zing!
