  • I go there, in real life, srsly. Its one of my favourite chippys in London's famous London. Not just cos of the name tho...

Last time I staggered in there pissed the nice polish lady gave me free chicken served with a wink...

The time before that the bloke gave me my chips & curry sauce, my fiver back and my change for a fiver. win.

Chicken and wink, i want that action! thats it, I am going to ask the meat pit for more winking

  • no hippos are river pigs.

    Greek etymology FAIL

    Hippopotamus = River Horse

  • whale = made of fish

  • ^Thats one fucking big fishy^

  • It was going in for the krill, hitting that shoal was a pure fluke

  • the van driver needs putting in the stocks so we can make a social piranha (pariah)out of him or a public hanging ,ill shell out for the tope

  • I saw one of their vans this morning driving down Piccadilly. The flaming rear doors were open and swinging in the wind! I watched him pull over near the Wolseley to close it. He's probably quite lucky that an accident didn't occur.

I thought you were on about a fish with flaming rears down Piccadilly!

    and this one??

i think you should take up running

Seriously for a change: Have you ever done a cycle training session, James?

Perhaps it's just that you simply don't let situations go that others let go, but it might be interesting if a good cycle trainer observed you for a while. Personally, I haven't seen anything in your riding that could really be the cause.

One thing that is worth realising is that when you get a reaction from someone on the road, however negative short of being injured or killed, of course, you're probably doing better than people who aren't noticed at all. But it's hard to tell what it may be that's causing it. Hope you/others (delete as applicable) manage to reduce the frequency of such incidents!

  • The real reason the van was irate with dancing james?

    Fished.

  • i know, its a bi weekly thing...

    COUGH COUGH

    ;)

I know 'pike' has been done, but that should really be 'pikeability'.

  • As a fencer and in general in life I tend to use counter attack as defence. If someone has violated me, or my personal space I will respond in a likewise but stronger fashion.

Hence why a lot of the time I am one of the happiest fuckers on a bike and love giving way to people, saying thanks, chatting with drivers as i go past etc etc.

What has been interesting to me is the last couple of incidents I have been involved in I have not been the first person to start swearing/shouting. Though of course the moment someone starts threatening me or swearing I will up the ante, tell me to fuck myself and I will threaten to rape your entire family. So yes I will antagonise but if someone does things which put my life in danger then my adrenal response will kick in, though generally I go into fight mode rather than flight.

Having said that even when I last went into flight mode the psycho driver chased me for a few miles.

I have actually been in touch re cycle training as I would be interested to get feedback on what I do. To be honest I think a great deal of the time the difficulty is drivers do not appreciate my defending my position on the road and that I am not going to be intimidated by them beeping or swerving at me.

This year I have had 2 people get out of cars and swing at me and a few more try to drive into me. I have never rammed a car, kicked a lambo or tried to hit a driver or pedestrian. I have on occasion tapped a window/panel/wing mirror to make drivers aware of my presence - if I have got that close they ought to have noticed me already.

  • I've also put my name for training as Im a wee bit scared of roads!

Pavements frighten the shit out of me.......

  • Why?

  • Full of pedestrians that could swerve into you at any minute

    edit: oh I forgot

Fish? (or as we used to say in the West Stand 'Feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesh')
