  • went into in tfg today,
my friend and I were chatting about a hot bike parked up and were rudely told "its not for sale" (basically translated into get your filthy hands off my bike). fuck you. don't park it on the shop floor you twat. Honestly, was so taken aback by his attitude.
I will not go back there again.

  • It's better than it used to be.

  • i went in about 6 month ago and said i wanted to use a cycle to work scheme, and if they could go through a build sheet with me, was handed a piece of paper and told i was better of going to evans, so went to blb and spent my 2grand else where. F*ck idiots i would rather walk home than buy an intertube from that store

  • The other week I went in and asked the 10 year old virgin upstairs...

Hi do you have swrve shorts?

    (Eventually)

    no.

    How about vittoria 1976 shoes?

    no.

All without looking up from texting on his mobile.
Little twat, I should have walked out with a bike - he wouldnt have noticed.

    Condor or moquito for me.

  • Mojito?

Jammy (on here) or Bobby are usually more than helpful. DId you go in there with a special hipster attitude?

  • ^^ Wah, wah, wah. Are personal insults really justified because of a little bit of poor customer service?

    WAC, HTFU etc

  • the 10 year old virgin upstairs...

I'm really struggling to understand this. Is it an insult? Are you saying 10 year olds shouldn't be virgins, making an obvious point about a 10 year old, making assumptions on someone based on their age or implying you are better than them because you are older?

  • I went in and put my filthy hands on the 10 year old virgin upstairs. All without looking up from my phone.

All concerned were very polite and friendly with me though.

  • Except the old bill.

  • Ive never had any problems at tfg.

If I know what I want and cant find it ill ask.

If they have it ill buy it, if they dont ill go somewhere else.

If I dont know what I want and they dont ask me anything thats fine because im just looking.

If they do ask me anything i say im just looking thanks.

    Its quite simple really.

    @monkeyspaw
If they didnt have what you wanted why are you so pissed off? Its not like they actually had it but were hiding them from you.

  • Yawn,
Just commenting on what someone said about shitty attitude from tfg.

10 year old virgin was just a funny insult about the kid with tude behind the counter.

Hipster attitude I would say tfg have the attitude in this case. I asked about the swvre and the shoes as on both those websites they have tfg down as stockists.

How rude of me to ask!

    Judging him on his age.
Could give a fuck how old he is. Just look at the customer when youre being asked a question.

    Wah wah Wah
Sorry for the newbie on this forum having an opinion.
    Get over it man!
    Blah!

  • check the tfg website. telephone if in doubt.

  • To be fair there is that slight feeling of elitism in there that you get in many specialist shops.

  • Agreed. The guys in La Fromagerie are such snobs.

  • I work on wardour street. Really happy when a neat new bike shop opened. You know not a cs or evans!
Closer then fitzrovia and fixed bling to boot!!!

Just a bit blah on the service.
But that's cool, apparently I need to "harden the fuck up" ??

    Wooo!

Don't mind a bit of elitism in a cool bike shop. (I love mosquito).
But this was just a bit surly.
Ah, surly... Maybe he was being ironic!!!???

Then again like I could give a fuck, I've already spent tooo much time explaining a fairly dull post in the first place.

Just adding my little bit to a thread

  • I couldn't believe it when I asked about a new filter for my Dyson in there and the man - more of a boy really - behind the counter just looked at me like I was nothing. Nothing.

I won't be going back in a hurry I can tell you that.

  • :-)

For the record I love TFG. It's my favourite bike shop for sure.

  • I'm prepared to bet I'm the only voyager who has dared to set foot inside it with his bloody mother in tow.

  • Well, given that mine died before the shop opened it would have taken a lot of digging and some heavy lifting for me to do that.

  • I couldn't believe it when I asked about a new filter for my Dyson in there and the man - more of a boy really - behind the counter just looked at me like I was nothing. Nothing.

I won't be going back in a hurry I can tell you that.

That's cos they only stock Miele.

  • I've never been to Tokyo Fixed Gear, I can't afford the airfare.

  • I'm prepared to bet I'm the only voyager who has dared to set foot inside it with his bloody mother in tow.

I took my wife. She stood by the door the whole time while I pointed at stuff to her from across the room. She didn't like it. I think she could feel the potential for me to be parted from a shit ton of money we don't have. She seemed relieved when we left.

  • I sent my missus in there with a list of gift ideas and one of the first comments she made was was about how polite and down to earth they were. Above all, she said they were really helpful.

  • I sent my mum in there to get me brake blocks, she left the store with my new 10 year old foster brother. Surly we call him.

  • I've been in there a couple of times, and I have nothing but praise about how helpful and polite they were.
