there is a thread about mack with prices and options. waiting time is really long atm.
and don't worry, he will write back at you in a few days. -

haha.... no.
you can just about grab their attention if you go in there and shout at them.
.You reckon? I've always found them to be the opposite, every time I go in there, within 5 minutes everyone who works in there has asked me if I'm ok, do I need anything in particular, etc.

Macks look great, though not really up for the 12 week waiting list. Perhaps next time.
So... I'd say it's Miche vs Gran Compes, or possibly DA if I push the boat out.
Ha or... super bargain On Ones at £15 a pop.
Hmmm...

my onones spin smooth, they are formulas. best value hub at 15 quid. you won't notice the difference between onone and miche/grancompe. to notice a difference you need to go higher.

i had the formulas for no longer than 2 month, than the ball bed collapsed, i suggest to spend some money on the bearing bits, eighter its hubs, headset or BB, to have a lucky ride and not a rattling crackling squeaky ride.

I've just got a Formula rear to build up a spare wheel. I've had a pair of Primatos for 2 years that haven't faltered.
I'm going to build the next set low flange to see if I can feel the difference. But I have low flange factory built wheels on my mtb and touring bike. The latter I must have ridden for 4000 miles and all is well. (Ridida Novas on Shimano Parralax incase you're wondering.)
My question is: Really can Phils be 4x as good as Formula or 2x as good as Goldtec? Surely they ride as good to start with as each other? Is it to do with longevity? Does the machining lead to some miraculous quality of ride?
I'm guessing longevity must be the key.

Yeah, White's are nice but a little pricey, and only in 130 rear, what's that about?
Thinking DA now... £142 delived. Hmmm creeping up isn't it, I'm entering the "it's only another £20 for this stage" then again, and again. before I know it I'll be buying Phils!

It's because the White Eno hub is designed for converting bikes with vertical dropouts (conventional road frames not track) so they can be run singlespeed or fixed - it's an ecentric hub. Conventional road frames have 130mm dropouts. Buying an Eno would be pointless for a track frame.

I've been riding Macks for about a month now and absolutely love them. Only ridden Condor branded hubs (Formulas?) before this though, so take that with a grain of salt.
Got mine for £126+postage, a bargain at the time I reckon.

Where from?

Ah true on the Enos... though they now offer a non ecentric version for horizontal drops so would make sense to offer these in 120 or even 126.
DA from the same source you mentioned in the DA thread... Alexscycles.

Alexcycles won't mark the item value down and you'll probably get hit by tax. I paid an extra £36
Bear in mind.

Yeah... have thought about this but was hoping to find a way around it. I have a family member in the US, guess I could try and source it there and then ask them to ship it on. Quite a lot of hassle though.
Decisions, decisions eh...
Same techology hubs as this pair of wheels that I've just ordered for the Wilier. Just under £500...

The other £500 of my Cycle-Plus voucher has gone on a Spesh Tricross singlespeed.
