JOL/Gurney Straps

just sold my fit bmx last week for £65 i threw in the fly rueben pedals cos it was the kids birthday, they would have been perfect wish i'd kept them now.

^spose to give is better than to recieve hey...hhhmmmph

I'm releasing them as they are made BF.
Will start at the top of the list.

edmunro - Don't know about long distance per-se but everyone I have given them to rides their bike as their main bike. I'd imagine James, Hassanr and Max have put some miles on em.
I guess that BMX platforms would prevent 'hotspots' that occur with clipless and the straps are comfy and allow the foot to 'float' a little.

Maybe you could give me some feedback. No green as yet sorry.

Happy to be the long distance guinea pig - 80mile days with full touring kit down to portugal and back next summer. I have a feeling they'll be proper bo' for this mission cos of the added freedom of movement over clips/straps.
Ah well, black will be fine then if there ain't no colours yet.

Apologies to all those at the top of the list - JOL very kindly donated a few sets of these to the winning teams at the Euros last weekend, so we snuck in before you. We're totally over the moon to have them, after having nothing but good reports from those riding them (ask Hassan!).

why dont you go up the foundry on friday and give a pair to a courier to try them out? you'll soon find out how comfy they are for long periods and how robost they are. I would have loved these when i was on the circuit

The fly ruebens are awesome pedals, but watch out for the sharp edges if you're threading webbing straps through them that will have feet shoving in and out of them...smoother edges will prolong the life of the straps.

How wide are the bottom two strap sections?

I need to know whether they'll fit easily through my current cheap as pedals.

25mm across. But they do bend a bit so smaller holes would be fine. I had them originally on Wellgo DX copies and the smaller holes actually made them stand up better.

The edges on the Wah wah's are pretty sharp (Maybe not as much as the fly's) and they seem to be holding up well.
It would be good to test some on some super-fine machined pedals though.

mmmmm I do love those fly pedals, pricey, but oh so nice.

i have been lookin all over for something to replace my current toe strap setup. I ride bmx and I just didnt like the feel of the road pedals, cages, and straps. these velcro straps are genius!

yo i just did 45odd miles with these and they were awesome! foot felt well comfortable. same power as from a clipless pedal

I think a strike over the shipped ones would be a good idea — or bold, or underline, since striking does not seem allowed here. everyone would know how far he is from getting them.

how much labor is involved in makin these straps? do you do one at a time or a bunch? they look like they take a lot of stitching
