Tourney: Yippee! One team spot available for Euros

Tough one...

I think the fairest option is to offer spot to the 5th team from qualies...think this was Lockett, Andy and Piqanimal. They were the next best team, therefore earnt the spot. Why should they have to play the teams who couldn't make the euro's?

However, If they don't want to take the spot or the complete team can't make it, then I think the next fairest option is we all vote for a wild card london team. No way should there be a tourney just for the teams that couldn't make the qualies, as I believe it would undermine the results of that epic day.

I think Freaky Sex earned it, but I'd love to see Los Conos (and maybe any other team that couldn't make it) fight for it.

Although having said all that...I'd love to see a Bad v Los Conos rematch...although any result technically would still mean there was 1 spot still available.

Freaky should play Conos asap, best of three to see who plays.

Nope, this is even more unfair on the teams who didn't have a chance to play in the first place!

Los Conos (Sezza and the Lezzas) are one of the longest standing teams in London, and have proved themselves in loads of tournaments. Just because they couldn't make a date in June, they are being penalised.

Let this be a learning for next time - don't give all the spots away before letting everyone have a fair chance!

Sarah, are all of Los Conos around this weekend? And Freaky Sexy (or PiQuE Maxx?!) are all of you? If not then that option becomes redundant anyway.

Would also be nice to see the 14 y/o 'taches have a go too!

I'm not about on Sat, but me and Jo will be at Brick Lane on Sunday keeping an eye out for the stolen road bikes. Grrr! :(

Just saw this thread, i would be honoured to play in the tournament.

I dont mind how i get there.

I feel that the qualifiers would have been a complete waste of time if we didnt go through but also understand other opinions.

It should be decided by the community.

Sarah, I know it sucks that you couldn't make it to that qualifier day. But it sucks also for the teams that did make it to that day, and they played 8 other teams. We tried very hard to accommodate all schedules with the date for the tourney. I'm sorry you couldn't make it, but I don't think you were "penalized." I think you will be lucky if people vote for the option to let you play, but that are other options that are arguably as fair as this.

I could be pedantic and say that you were not one of the teams who initially showed interest in playing the Euros and registered to play in a qualifying tourney...

But I won't - I reckon everyone should get a chance. I'd love a re-match with you boys, but I fear its too late :(

Also, remember that there was playoff for fifth place at the qualifier. Freaky Sexx had to fight hard for that fifth spot. They had to play an extra game against Sitting Ducks.

I will be pedantic and say that if you actually beat Freaky Sexx and got to enter that tourney, that would be quite a letdown for Sexx, as they had to beat a bunch of other teams on a hard, hot tourney day to win.

I know I said it - to wind Max up. I honestly think Freaky Sexx deserve it more than us, but my point is we weren't even given the chance!
