but as Booga said, i may be able to get lessons in a velodrome, and then they may let me ride fixed on the road.
does anyone know how much it would cost for a lesson in a velodrome? Booga suggested Herne Hill velodrome... -
• #135
So her problem is with the fixed drive train not with the NoBrake?
-
• #136
i've got a front brake, but yes her problems with the fixed drive train.
-
• #137
So you've never ridden fixed?
Herne Hill inductions are £2 or £3
You in London?
-
• #138
no, i'm on the coast, in hastings... =[
i have ridden fixed, a friend of mine's got one, and i've ridden on mine when my mum was out and survived.
Shes gonna make me put a freewheel on it... -
• #139
try and get hit by a bus/car walking to school. that will put things into perspective!
-
• #140
dude at the end of the day, although fixed allows you to connect with the road and corners a lot more that with a free wheel, but its just a bike and if it is your mum just listen for once...
haha i am sorry if that sounds patronizing but shit happens =]]] x -

sorry, but HTFU, you posh cunt.
A; if you shelled out for a bike shop to build your bike, rather than building it yourself, then you don't deserve it.
B; if you can't convince your parents of a simple matter like this, then you have a complete lack of social skills. They just want you to be safe, it is a simple misunderstanding on their part - it looks bloody dangerous. Show them some facts, let them have a go etc. If they're that stubborn, live with it. Don't fanny about on the internet.Sorry - a bit harsh. i'm sure you're lovely, but as a person of a similar age, this dort of thing really gets on my tits. Rant over ;)

If he's not mature enough for a fixie skidder, then a dort is completely out of the question.

where do you get the "posh" bit from...."Alfie"?
his folks could afford to lend him a lump of money, to be payed back slowly and uncertainly, a few times.
that his parents made him get his bike built at a bike shop
that his parents lent him a lot of money for something they clearly know very little about - haven't researched, etc.
If i'm wrong, feel free to correct me. -
