I don't believe so

The game was ok, but didn't look that much more pro than the last day of worlds/euros.
Good if you want polo to look like all other american sports... :-/
Did massively underline the problem with women being goalies.
"She's a wall" being the most descriptive phrase used about both women playing.

If polo is really ever to go 'pro', then it'll need to ditch the shit / joke team names at some point.

• #2580
That's the best bit.

ditto.
about as boring as watching tournament games, probably more boring.

They've just replaced #goodvibez with logos.

And what is up with the commentary. Trying to look professional has had the opposite effect. #bringbackmachine

Machine was unique, people love unique.

Sorry John H, I concur with the others. I didnt get far with it.
I think you do great organising work with NAH, and your enthusiasm is commendable. But polo doesnt seem to translate well into a tele-spectator sport, I think this one might be a dead end. Fun to play... not so fun to watch.

Hey, it's not my project. I'm not totally convinced either, but for me it's an interesting alternative. It's still very raw, and Sean knows that, he wants to make it a lot better.
Anyway, in other news: http://bcove.me/s39atvik

Out of interest, in what way are these guys 'professional'? What do they get paid for? I assume it's just on a game-by-game basis for now?
-
• #2588
As far as I'm aware, it's a name only, I don't believe they were paid. The only difference is the level of money that's gone into making the tournament happen (hiring an exhibition space, a film crew, etc...)

Both games have been rather boring. The first game especially lacked ambition and both games were not too fast because the player were not too confident due to the slippery surface.
Pity, because the players are amongst the best in the world. -

the professional aspect of that tournament needs to be dropped. It's even on wikipedia.

Hm, surely it's rather pointless to call it 'professional' if only support staff get paid but not the players?
I obviously completely appreciate that these are all trials and that the polo cottage industry isn't that plush yet, but surely at least some kind of small pay for the players would be required to make the name genuine?
NB I actually have no opinion as to whether polo should try out professionalism or not.

Mr Do is pumping them out already
Managed the first 3 minutes (although 1:30 of that was ads).
Is there a shorter/highlights version?
