Could well be up for this, always wondered what it'd be like. Weekday evening probably best for me. What gearing you on BTW, I'll be trying it on 48x18.

48x17 here, and I'm not the fittest, so it could take a while! But I got to Blackpool last week, so I dont see why this should be impossible.
Weekday evening would be fine with me.

Maybe next wednesday ? What time you thinking about ?

Well I can finish early if needs be, so whatever time suits you really, next wednesday is fine for me...
How long do you think we should allow?

Dunno really, it's more the ride back down I'm concerned with. If we set off at say 6, we should be OK, takes an hour each way to Macc so maybe 3.5 hours total. Whereabouts are you BTW ?

Or possibly get a train back from Macc.

Great Ancoats street, so fairly central!

Cool. We'll sort something out next week, when we can get an accurate weather forecast.

I'd be up for that if you want another rider - dont know where the cat and fiddle is mind...

Cool rory. The C&F is a long hill out from Macclesfield to Buxton.
-
• #12
Cool... 'it's a while since i embaressed myself on a climb...

Jesus Ronnie - you're putting the miles in lately. I've still not got around to putting my new cranks on yet - I've been well slack recently.
-
• #14
if pan is done i'll come..just need to get those ruddy cranks off.
-
• #15
OK, I'm getting worried now, the more people that come, the more I'll be shown up! Go easy on me, I haven't been riding fixed for long, so don't all be flying up there stopping to ride backwards circles and laughing at me! haha

Ok, shall we make it next Thursday then, so Nes can come if her bike is sorted.
Probably meetup at 6pm in Fallowfield. -
• #17
Thursday is okay with me if its okay with everyone else, do we need to plan a route or are we all following you Manc Ronnie?
-
• #18
I'm just thinking about a route that avoids the Wizard in Alderley Edge !
-
• #20
well given that i got lost and ended up in Stockport earlier i'll follow... Thursday's good with me.
-
• #21
if pan's not ready i'll come anyway and freewheel whilst laughing.

Just had a look at that route - looks good... i'll be on the fuji as the burgundy dream getting an MOT ready for a possible sale.
-
• #23
Well, seeing as Rory showed me up last night for what I am (a very unfit cyclist), it looks like you lot may have to wait for me at the top!

Am I missing something here? You are all planning on going up the C&F on fixed? I don't understand how that's possible, ceratinyl I couldn't do it on my 48x18.

It's what I'm going to try and do it on Wayne. Won't be going via The Wizard though. I reckon once the initial bit out of Macc is past it should be doable. Though that's easy to say sat on my arse at work......
Who is up for a blast up to the Cat and Fiddle from the CC on their fixed? Weekends is best for me, but with enough notice and interest, I can get a day off if weekdays are better for others...
