A topic title was never so true.
I have a question though. Are all Rapha products made in China ? That was kind of a huge disappointement to me.
-
• #9756
China is the most awesome place to make clothing in the 21st century
-
• #9757
There's nothing awesome about getting garments made in China, everyone does it.
China, nice but a bit cheap.
-
• #9758
Not all some of my recent Rapha stuff is from Portugal.
-
• #9759
All the quality brands will big up the quality of their choice of Chinese manufacturer
-
• #9760
This has also been covered before. China has invested heavily in quality production/manufacturing infrastructure and techniques - it is a very good place to have things made.
Some Rapha stuff is made in Italy, some in the UK, some in Indonesia, some in China.... The same as everyone else really.

Bastard postman claims to have delivered my latest order, no idea where but has not arrived at my fucking house.
-
• #9764
Isn't a "fucking house" a brothel?
-
• #9765
do you only ever fuck at brothels?
-
• #9766
Never been to your house.

Mine arrived today and, I have to say, I am very pleased with everything:
(Except the Town Gloves which are no longer made at Burfields & Co but made in..... India. They're not as good as the Burfields gloves and I don't think the quality is even as good as the Indonesian made R+PS Town Gloves.)

I'm afraid i'm not so quick to dismiss the quality of goods made overseas, and i say that after being bitterly disappointed with some products that are supposedly made in the UK.
However, you have yourself a great bag of swag there Monsieur Chaud-Chien. Enjoy. -

I find it laughable when people automatically assume that goods made in China (and surrounding countries) are automatically shit.
Ignorance is bliss sometimes.

Got my half price Winter jersey from Royles this morning. Very nice, but I don't think I'll be wearing it for a while as it's very thick and warm.

I have tested some of it out tonight on a quick 40 mile blast around the Lake District and I'm very impressed.
Anyone thinking of the Pro Team Thermal Shorts or a Classic Wind Jacket should go for it.

Perhaps Rapha are using Yod*l now?

Only did a 15 miles ride early this morning.
5 degrees, no rain, wind (as usual in Dublin)
A good base layer, a shirt and the city rain jacket.
ended up neither warm or cold, not at all wet inside, not swampy. It breathes... I just felt normal. If it performs like that for a couple of years I'll be entirely convinced by Rapha and will ride this jacket as an all-round one.
Plus, one of my housemates told me it was a good looking jacket (she calls me a fashionista) and did not notice it was a sport jacket :) -

Nike has started doing sportwool type merino/poly blend running and sports kit.

Yes. But. Lance.
Ordered a City Rain Jacket yesterday, received it today in Dublin. That is FAST.
Really breathable, windproof and really light. It's not rainning today (so far) so we'll see later for the real tryout.
Doesn't look like a bicycle jacket AT ALL and I advice anyone to take its regular size.
Good first impressions.
