If all the yoofs of today would start wearing Rapha on their grotty BMX's and MTB's would that turn the Rapha wearers of today off from buying/wearing it, just like the Burberry chav war of 2002?
That will never happen with cycling gear as the non road cyclist (includes BMX and MTB riders) would never wear roadie clothing in a million years.

hi cunts! :)
i want to try an experiment...
all expressing anti-rapha sentiment post your annual gross income.
all expressing pro-rapha sentiment post you annual gross income.will be interesting to see what we can infer from the results.
thanks cunts :)
seriously though.
i dnot expect people to post thier inomes here of course.results of that excercise might bear out my gut feeling about many of the posts and posters on this thread - it isnt actually about rapha, it's a about how much people earn or can afford to spend and the way that makes them feel.
for many anti posts read, "i cant afford it, i earn shit and i'm bitter about that"
read the opposite for many pro posts - "i can afford it so fuck you"some of the pro's seem a little ashamed. it's poor form to flaunt one's relative wealth but i suspect that some of them really want to say something like "fuck you, you povvo cunts. i have shitloads of money. go get some nasty shit from decathlon while i snuggle in my decadent twat-wear"
it's a class war brothers
Lol, repped etc. Can we have another option? Those who think Rapha is as cheesy as fuck and worshipped by idiot faux cyclists?

For reference, the "cool kit" Rachel Atherton is defending

...but for the sport and the longevity of the sport, to wear cool race kit and to make an image for yourself is more important than the odd win here and there..
What kind of fucking "athlete" are you? Surely you should be competeing for the love of cycling, or do you really see the cycling as just another string to your ugly downhill clothes modelling?
FFS!

i own 7 items of rapha clothing.
all are well put together.
my gf who was a couture pattern cutter until she flounced from the world of fashion has expressed her approval of the manufacturing standards.
all fit well
all are comfortable on the bike, even at 100miles plus.
the older items are wearing well, including washing welli like their stuff
i will continue to buy their stuff
but
i dont really feel defined as a cyclist by their stuff i guess in the same way that i refuse to buy campy because i just want a derailleur to shift my chain, i dont need it to provide me with a spiritual link to european cycling heritage and grainy images of 1930s to 50s cycling hardmen suffering in the alps. -

Haha, when I was into downhilling they all wore lycra. It wasent untill Sean Palmer wore full motocross Fox gear that everyone stopped whereing it (and that took a few years. I did fucking look fucking cool in my fox FX jersey). Tracy Mosley was racing then (in lycra) and is now in trouble for it.

Barbour is for fox killers, so it's OK. Now you can have the same - even if you prefer espresso and "Roleur" to a pint of bitter and "Daily Mail".
too slow. had 6 pm's from the landed gentry already.
you snooze you loose.
