Rapha, nice but a bit pricey?

Has anyone got any reviews of the commuter jacket? How waterproof/breathable is it? I'm half tempted.

I have these in Hi-vis pink, amazing piece of clothing for on and off the bike.

Does keep you dry quite nicely when it rains, obviously one needs to keep on top of the waterproofing but has sensible pockets.

The fit is more relaxed even for me in a XS for the casual look. The only annoying part in my books is the way they try to roll the hood away and clip it with the button strap at the back of the neck like their OG track jacket, but this one is a little flimsy and would have liked something more secure to keep the hood in place when rolled away.

8/10 - would recommend.

I wouldn't say it's breathable at all, but it's 100% waterproof and durable.

Got you. I've had issues with waterproof jackets before that are totally waterproof but not at all breathable so you end up with a load of condensation on the inside of the jacket, negating the benefits of being waterproof. Any idea if this is likely to be the case with the commuter jacket?

Sadly it's exactly what happens with this jacket. It's OK for walking (or if you're never hot like @HoKe), but if you do any activity you will be wet from inside. I think even my Core Rain Jacket is more breathable than the Commuter one.

Dumb question, but anyone from Rapha HQ knows why they don’t sell the matching EF mitts anymore?

To echo what others have said, while it may keep the rain off you, you're still gonna end up wet if you're going at any more than a walking pace. Probably the only time I've ever experienced sweaty arms.

Might not be the best bet for me then! I'm looking for something not too bikey looking that I can wear all day and I do get a bit of a sweat on.

Maybe these, I have a black one which was on sale last year, also wear it off-bike, looks 'normal' if you're OK with the longer back which is great on the bike. Sweaty inside is OK, but not as good as my old Gore-Tex jacket with Active membrane – this one was good regarding water proofness, but abolsutely not sweaty.

In the video on the Rapha website supposed to be so abstract?
