bloody ridiculous

It's hard to escape the fact that brands can only produce that which they can reasonably sell and whilst the participation and purchasing levels are so male dominated the product availability will also be.

Crazy talk
Rapha should make exactly the same number of items in each size for males and females to avoid suggestion of bias towards fat middle aged men.

All the xl sell out first !

Love to be able to squeeze a into M, but Large I reckon.

I fully appreciate that, but Rapha have been focusing a lot on advertising towards female cyclists through the website and social media outlets. They are also advertising their "core" range in which the female version is arguably a lesser product (no back pockets).
My query on the core cargo shorts is is there something inherently difficult or obstructive in making a female bib option rather than just the shorts, when there doesn't seem to be any issue with the full price, non core version?

Your query assumes the female market wants a bib rather than a short. Sales are skewed towards the short, hence the decision. If you've only got one bet to place, you pick the one that looks the winner.
The male Core range also has a short (non Bib) variant without rear pockets.

Obviously my assumption is because I'm not privy to sales figures, but it is interesting that the shorts sell more than bibs for females when the male market for just shorts is almost nowhere near as popular as bibs. Thanks for the explanation.

I think you'll find it's because with bibs ladies have to take off their jerseys to take a piss, whereas with shorts they dont

I like to treat myself to a sit down wee on occasion and can confirm that this ^ is annoying

This is the only reason I wear my base layer under my bibs.

Also only for men. They do seem to have done a lovely range of mountain bike shorts for women that don’t at all suggest that women’s mountain biking constitutes riding on a hybrid bike for fitness.
-
• #33065
Would you wear it over your bibs otherwise? I've always thought base layer closest to skin before bib straps, have I been doing it wrong?
-
• #33066
This ^ surely?
-
• #33067
Exactly. It’s a base layer right?

I think under everything is the pro way, but I prefer not to have the base layer between the strap and my skin. Also, I have some base layers that are too long so they are are more comfortable outside.

New (old stock) glove day. From the mcr nq sample sale, 2011/12? Realise now how brittle my other pair have got, what's good for restoring them back to soft newness?

Uses less 4g data and harks back to a golden era in cycling.
Again with no female option.
