  • the £45 puncture repair kit

  • Ashamed to admit I bought one.

    #buyer

  • The Silca ones are made by PB Swiss anyway.

They're basically the best ones you can buy, although even direct from PB Swiss aren't exactly cheap.

Damn you, I clicked on that link and ended up buying £140 worth of tools.

  • Just think of it as the equivalent of 1 Rapha jersey's worth of tools.

  • As of now, I've got a new favourite GIF.

  • I have just unearthed evidence of @amey having once worn Castelli. This is the smoking gun we were all awaiting.

  • That data is equivalent of Hillary's emails. Can end the world as we know it.

Also tempted by those allen keys.

  • are you all paid up and RCC now?

  • There is a Leica thread on their forum ..

  • why am I not surprised you would pay to join a forum for a #superbuyer leica thread.

    1. What are the Rapha backpacks like?
    2. What's the go to laptop carrying commuter backpack?
    3. Why do Rapha socks require a dozen close-ups of every seam and stitch on the websites, but they don't think it'd be valuable to show even a single picture of the inside of a bag they sell on the strength of its clever compartments/pockets?
  • @sandancer, I have a rapha backpack if want to have a look, work is Ec3m or home is E11. I think they're good but if I wouldn't pay full whack but I'm tight! I've read the ortlieb velocity is good.

  • I brought a small one for my mum, the quality is expectional, enough space for laptop and small equipment imo but I think you should go to the shop and see if the bigger size would suit you more or not.

  • Thanks, but I'm up north.

I was just looking at the cheap ones in the sale, but I'm not sure I can accept the monochrome styling.

I've had an Oakley Toolbox bag for years and it's been awesome, but too big for current needs. I got a regular Belkin laptop backpack at work and tried that for one commute and it ended up drenched in sweat...I can't see that ending well. With the Oakley I'd ever even considered the issue of a sweaty back, the bag has never been washed and looks like new. I don't know if dealing with that is something that's taken for granted with 'cycling' backpacks.

  • @Sanddancer ahh sorry I assumed you'd be in Londoninium sorry to be so London centric.
Good point re the sweaty back, I find this happens a lot with the Rapha. IMO there aren't enough spaces as there are too many pads and they're too close together.

  • I think an inherent problem with any cycling backpack is that you'll get a sweaty back, it's unavoidable.

I've got a Rapha back pack and think it's very good, although I could do with a bit more carrying capacity.

  • If you're worried about a sweaty back, get a big expandable saddle bag, or if you need to carry a laptop a carradice sqr.

My BRP saddlebag is probably the best purchase I've made in terms of commuting comfort

  • You have a 90 days return policy if that is any help?

  • As @branwen said, if don't want to get a sweaty back then saddle bag is a good option or even panniers?

    https://www.apidura.com/shop/?jumpto=98

  • Yeah. My assumption was that panniers weren't an option (and saddle bags have the advantage of working on all bikes- even brklss fixeh skidders...), but if they are then absolutely

  • The only problem I find with the rapha saddle bag is fitting you have flat objects (aka ipads or laptops).

  • @Sanddancer ahh sorry I assumed you'd be in Londoninium

Have you ever seen anyone dance on sand in London? Thought not.

  • rapha saddle bag

(Other saddle bags are available ... 😁)

  • I'm sure I've seen someone on the beach at the South Bank pulling some Dad moves.
