  • I think the pad is same for everything. With PT the placement is different.

  • Have you tested them with a decent length ride yet?

  • Does it look like this though?

I've never owned bibs with such a massive spongy pad so genuine question.

  • As I said, just arrived, first impressions.

  • Dont have core yet but I cant find any difference in pad thickness between classic and PT.
    Classic is comfy.

  • Maybe the difference is just in the way they're stitched?

  • Same pad in all our shorts.

  • Are the classics/pro team stitched differently though? I've never looked at them and thought the pad was this chunky/visible.

  • Nope. It's the same.

  • Cant tell if you constant complaints in this thread are trolling or not?
    If trolling.... LOL.
    If not trolling... LOLOL.

  • Is it complaining to say that the Rapha pad is massive compared to other brands? Or that my experience of removing the softshell baselayer is like comparable to trying to climb out the womb?

I might frame what I say in more vivid terms than other people but I can assure you that's just a personal preference for humour over bone-dry, near autistic levels of obsessive cycle chat to be enjoyed both throughout this thread and elsewhere that for a large part, bores me to tears.

If you'd rather I fuck off and leave you to the daily 'it's 16 degrees, slightly damp and with a 7mph southwesterly wind, so I shall wear x with y, but should I also wear z?' chat I'll happily do so dear chap.

  • I see.....50% LOL, 50% LOLOL then.
I'm just here for the LOLZ. I have no interest in actual cycling.

  • And I have no interest in whether some po-faced rapha acolytes get a strained arsehole from implied criticism. It's clothes. Expensive, hopefully functional clothes. Not the fucking Turin Shroud or Mohammad's favourite band t-shirt.

  • Bobby the Dulux Dog

  • whats that about t shirts?

  • Is that a new Rapha/Liberty collaboration?

Much prefer it to those caps they did for it's irreverent modern stylings.

  • I just ordered a couple of jerseys courtesy of a mega code (a super lightweight and a 'training' jersey) and only just noticed they're both quite polyestery in the description. Having only ever had their merino based jerseys are these a bit stickier/smellier/stiffer etc? Should've gone to the shop but I'm lazy.

  • It's the new Airport Lounge range.
I think initial product testing has been well recieved.

  • I ordered the navy club jersey with arm warmers at 30% off, but annoyed now that the navy core jersey is in stock as id have preferred that, cant switch though because id lose the free arm warmers and pay more for the core jersey alone

also think i'll return the cotton trousers, really quite like them but no idea when id actually wear them

  • I'd have to disagree with you about the softshell baselayer lol. It's currently my favorite piece of kit.

It's 5*c-10*c with rain/rain showers here in Vancouver Canada, and I wear it with a PT jersey or super lightweight jersey and I'm nice and warm for a 2hr race or 3hr tempo ride.

As for the pad in your core shorts, you can't really judge it without riding in it? Have u ridden in it yet?

  • I'd have to disagree with you about the softshell baselayer lol. It's currently my favorite piece of kit.

Hooray! I like it too when I'm riding, but getting it off when it's saturated in sweat is fucking annoying and requires partial dislocation of my shoulders. The new edition has a zip-do you think this might be why? Sartorial this that and the other aside, it's cycling clothing, for cycling and when you take away the aesthetic qualities, there's room for improvement-which they have clearly recognised themselves with the new version.

It's 5*c-10*c with rain/rain showers here in Vancouver Canada, and I wear it with a PT jersey or super lightweight jersey and I'm nice and warm for a 2hr race or 3hr tempo ride.

This is the kind of banal chat that has me clawing my eyes out. I hope you're trolling, and if you are I tip my cap at you, but I suspect you're not. When it's hot I wear less clothes, when it's cold I wear more, when it's wet I wear waterproof stuff and if it's mixed I might pack a gilet and htfu. Why people feel the need to publicly autopsy every minor and moderate climatic change throughout their ride and match it to the performance of their garments is beyond me-unless you just rode through Hurricane Desmond wearing nothing but Winter Embrocation and a large smile it's really not that fucking interesting.

As for the pad in your core shorts, you can't really judge it without riding in it? Have u ridden in it yet?

Please see upthread to satiate your curiosity with regards to this particular question.

  • Thinking of doing some richmond park laps tomorrow. Most likely PT jersey and bibs, Merino base, merino gloves, DHB leg warmer .. thoughts?

  • Ooft. You're going out on a limb there Amey. 13 degrees and leg warmers? You'll cook to death!

  • Tomke logic of early spring classics mainly to slay MAMILs.

  • Just be careful and stay hydrated, ok? Preferably with some amino acids and electrolytes thrown in.
