Rapha, nice but a bit pricey?

What weathers/temperatures are they suitable enough for? Would want them to be versatile for the current kind of weather and warmer, but not quite "full on" summer.

Will it void the warranty if I cut-off?

The fabric is fairly lightweight, but I wouldn't describe them as summer trousers.

i mean they can but...

my problems with most of the rapha trousers is
that they are held up by my thighs, not at my waist
when I roll them up they have to be rolled up past my calves as they are too narrow in the lower leg
