  • Looking at the details, as someone in the business – is appalling.

    Not – Rapha is appalling.

The details matter. As is the point!

  • title change?

rapha, shite and a bit pricey?

    #cumhocergopropterhoc

  • As I said, I was just pointing out it's something they really need to work on.

I provided my business, when openly asked, in order to show that I'm not just some random complaining about it but someone with an informed opinion on finishing in clothing; it wasn't meant to be a comparison with sportswear.

I might just add that a fully hand stitched shirt, made in Italy with the best English fabrics (one area we might still be called a world leader), would cost almost similar to a PT Jersey. So ultimately...who needs to put their house in order?

  • my last issue with gaffa was with the qc

they provided me with a better replacement but can't decide whether to send it back also for a refund

  • well said, Señor_Bear was probably expecting you to have shitty name on a hoody "clothing range"

  • What are you on about?

My point is still completely valid. #hatersgonnahategif

  • All this araphaty, and it seems they let none of you lot out to Earth anymore.

  • what you guys using to wash and re-treat shells with? i.e. city rain

  • I took the advice of the guys here, and bought the non-bio Halo wash through Wiggle, for washing gear. For waterproofing, Nikwax TX spray or Grangers both works well.

  • Grangers.

Wash & spray on reproofer. I think the Rapha products are just Grangers re-branded as they are very, very similar.

  • Good tip for nikwax: use double the dose in a sink and hand wash. Bit of a ballache and obviously costly, but it keeps my waterproof stuff (rapha, castelli, sportful, gore) in that just-bought-beading-off-water state. Random bloke in a pub told me that tip, works a treat.

  • I've never had great results with nikwax.

  • Returned my PTSS. The sizing is WAY different. I wear a medium in all the PT stuff and ordered a medium in this too. It was way too small! Order up if you are going to get one of these.

  • Just ordered a PTJ, do people still rate the new version highly?

  • Got new merino base layer for sale in Classifieds

  • Yeah, I found that.

I had a large from last year which is now FAR too big. I followed the advice on the website and ordered a large in the new season (which should fit like a medium) and it's tiny - I've sent it back to exchange it for an XL so hopefully that will do the trick.

  • just received a jersey back from the free repair service a lot quicker than imagined. although did laugh at it when looking at said repair. i had envisaged it looking a little better... would have kicked up more of a fuss for a replacement jersey if i had known!

  • maybe my expectations were too high!

  • How was it damaged?

  • no idea. but basically it developed 3 very small tears/holes over 3 different occasions. always washed inside a 'delicates' bag in the washing machine so i dont think it was damaged in the wash. although holes were only noticed when putting the jersey on for the next ride. its not my most used jersey so its weird this one has developed 3 seperate holes whilst the others have been fine.

maybe the colour is more attactive to moths?! not that it had been exposed to the muching critters.

  • You've damaged your own jersey some how and they have repaired it for free. That seems very reasonable.

On what basis should you have pushed for a free replacement jersey?

  • I do like their repair service, was involved in a nasty collision, big torn on Hardshell, send it off for repair, and actually prefer it over the new one that the driver's insurance cover.

  • i agree with you, it is reasonable and i am impressed with the turn around time as i was expecting it in the new year.

regarding pushing for a replacement. its more the damage occurring on a jersey which is treated well just like the other jerseys but this one tearing in 3 different areas on 3 different occasions with no 'known incident' to cause damage. why this jersey (which is not used as often as others) and none other are affected? that's the only reason to think that maybe something is amiss with this one!

i am not fussed and not blighted by it and in fact love the colour which i don't think is available anymore. on opening the packet it made me laugh!

like i said, perhaps my expectations this morning were off. i am hungover and feeling like death and writing this has required far too much concentration.

  • Girls love scars - you should be thanking them.

  • I have just sent a gilet, shirt and a base layer off to them. I realise that they normally don't repair merino base layers, but it was on its debut ride, so I have asked, can you patch it ???

By the way @markairsy1 how long was your turn around?
