Oh look, for just £350, you too can dress like a motorway nightworker!

Bought the Phinney jersey during the base layer offer. It's such a nice jersey, so jealous it's going for £70 atm

On their Facebook page, someone who recently paid full price for one got in touch and it looks like they were going to refund the difference. Worth a shot.

That Paul Smith gillet is the weirdest item of clothing ever. Three layers of mesh, random patches of neoprene and a sales assistant that had absolutely no idea why any of them were there.

The emperors new clothes or am I missing something?

The range and pricing does seem a bit odd. There are no bib shorts for example, so I can't see it appealing to Rapha-clad roadie types. It appears to be aimed at wealthy commuters without any great interest in cycling in itself.
Also launched in the Christmas run up...no surprises there

Look at the pricing of the rest of Paul Smith's stuff and it makes sense. It's a high end, well established brand where a t-shirt can easily cost £80. I think it's ludicrously expensive, but then so is most of his stuff.

Got the Phinney jersey just now, and it really is very nice. I usually only go for black garms, but can't really pass up on a comparative bargain like that. It's ever so slightly small around the neck but other than that, super comfy.
Got a merino base too, as other than the new jersey I have no winter bits.

Neoprene isn't supposed to be waterproof. It's supposed to be insulating.
-
• #18013
Neoprene can be produced in either closed-cell or open-cell form. The closed-cell form is waterproof, less compressible and more expensive. The open-cell form can be breathable.
Thanks Wikipedia.

Learn to love the vinegared zombie death stench.

Fair enough. I've never owned a single piece of neoprene cycling clothing that was properly waterproof. Including those shit Castelli booties and the matching gloves.

A new concept in cycling clubs, for just £20 a month.
-
• #18019
What? 20 quid a month subs? Fuck off.
-
• #18020
It's £200 a year, so £16.66 a month really.
Still.
-
• #18021
What do you get for that?
-
• #18022
for what benefit?
-
• #18023
Exclusiveness
-
• #18024
Sounds dumb
-
• #18025
Exclusiveness comes cheap if it's only £200 a year.
And you're surprised.
