Rapha revenue up 70% to £28.6m, but a 13.4% drop in pre-tax profits to £605,746 (2% of turnover)
Rapha hired a whole set of people to make their profits mysteriously disappear before the tax man comes looking?
-
• #17606
Hardly worth it for a c. £100k drop in profits. The cost of putting in place the necessary tax-avoidance structures would be more than you'd save in tax, by a considerable margin.

would.

Like the overshoes. Bored to death by the trendy/Prolly/hunter orange.

SF will be round in a minute telling us he has put an order in for a few pairs. Im sure he was after a pair in the past.

Purple Winter Jersey is nice

Lots of nice stuff this year! Will deffo try those overshoes in Black.

In market for overshoes too .. will have a punt once they are in the store; they seem to check all the boxes; hope they last longer than Castelli neoprene

Annoyingly I have somehow managed to get non-specific bike transmission gack on my new City Rainjacket, which as it is orange means the gack is rather obvious.
I’d normally just sling it in the washing machine, but my experience of the rain-proofness of garments, despite using the approved re-proofing substance, is not good.
Has anyone any (positive) experience of using a cleaning firm for this – one that would re-proof the garment afterward?
Thinking in the mould of a dry cleaner or similar, who would both lift the gack off and ensure that the rain still rolled off the fabric.

Have you tried spraying the spot with some vanish, unless you want to wash the jacket too...

They look pretty similar to generic neoprene, colour aside. Is it a zip or velcro closing?
-
• #17617
Sealed zip with a velcro top, apparently. They look pretty similar to my almost-dead Endura ones, to be honest, but I'm a slave to the logo
-
• #17619
Yeah sounds like the ones I have too - the zip failed first so hopefully they're using a decent one.

Those overshoes look good. I have some thinner fluoro ones from Giro. For winter I'd need a mtb compatible pair. But I'll probably invest in full on winter boots.
Really want to get some long rides down on the fat bike this winter.
The winter jersey sounds great. If it works nicely with a gilet for visibility.

I have also decided to commute on the MTB in winter again. Hoping it will help build some better strength in the legs lugging around the heavier bike...

Lots of nice stuff this year! Will deffo try those overshoes in Black.
I had the previous version of these, bought some time ago in the sale and was unimpressed. The main failure was the toe area quicky ripped after putting foot down when stopping. They seem to have tried to address this weakness in the new version with some kevlar strip however, would be interested to hear how durable that is. Otherwise the neoprine was good.

I was thinking high cadence endurance stuff on the fat bike. Then horrible interval training on the turbo. So I hit 2015 fitting nicely into my L Rapha.

tears on the sole at toe area and zips failing due to water... always happens to my overshoes. kinda feel like overshoes are one-season item. 55£ is an outlay
-
• #17625
Exactly. Makes a £150+ dedicated winter boot make sense over a few seasons.
Used to watch with my old man. Good old days.
