  • A lot of riders in the grand tours pre-support used to wear one as they'd need it after raiding cafes and shops for drinks etc.

You mean they didnt just use their cleats?

  • You mean they didnt just use their cleats?

    I'm getting lost now.

  • You can open bottles with time atacs, and possibly other pedals

  • those 1930's time atacs were great use in getting corks out of wine bottles.

  • Infact I was thinking where in the 50s/60s someone was riding a grand tour in time atacs :)

Another thing, I've seen the tips tray in Rapha the other day, there were a lot of £20 notes, I guess that little tray was containing at least £300... And was something like 1pm. Wtf? How does it work?

  • Well you know 10% service charge on those coffees....

  • I know you are joking... But seriously, I worked in hospitality for years but never in these Costa caffe types, how can someone leave £20 on coffees and maybe a choco ball?

  • The staff put them there?

  • They were all out of fifties.

  • Wasn't Rapha supposed to have light "climber" shoes out this summer?

  • Summer is not Hill Climb season...

  • Climber, not hill climbing.

    "10. Rapha Climber’s Shoes
One of the products I’m most excited about in 2014 is a new addition to our footwear range. The Rapha Climber’s Shoes are lightweight summer shoes perfect for long days in the mountains and gliding along hot roads in the summer. They’re our second collaboration with California-based Giro. They are lighter and more breathable than the GT Shoes (the Climber’s Shoes weigh less than 220g) and I have enjoyed wearing prototypes for the last 12 months."

    see here http://pages.rapha.cc/fr/stories-fr/14-for-2014-2

  • IIRC they're pretty ugly in real life.

  • You too can now wear a see through jersey just like Froome dog, only £150 (less is more):

Given they recommend the use of sun block underneath I am not looking forwards to clocking my first MAMIL in one of these :/

  • dont go to box hill then

  • That's what you tell yourself?

  • Glad they have listened and tidied up the site a little, it was a bit of a mess before.

  • 25% off all SKy kit for the tdf.

  • 50% off after...

  • And 75% off at the end of the season when they realise how much of it they've got left. Again.

  • 0% chance the discount is worth riding around in full team sky kit.

  • Here's a thought for you. That see thru Rapha Team Sky skin suit in Yellow. Froome will look like a worm in the TT.

I'll take the opportunity to get some nice kit dirt cheap, personally.

  • It's all a ploy. Once saturation point is reached and enough freds are TeamSky high on Rapha gear, then the team can train on British roads, just blending in. Stannard shouting "hole" through British January weather is so much cheaper than all the air fairs with excess (Rapha) luggage – saving James Murdoch money so he can pay his imminent US legal fees. Brailsford can use the Tenerife gaff for a nice holiday. Thomas gets a Jaguar. Everyone is happy.
