  • They're the weight weenie tribute perhaps?

The festival is a great idea. Nice poster too.

  • Typo in the poster, unless the lightening seeds are a lightning seeds tribute act.

it is part of rapha copy to have typos, it's part of the brand

Some of their proofreader customers requested some more suffering.

  • The Rapha pro team race cape in nodder yellow looks pretty amazing.

Going to have to try and get one in time for Trondheim - Oslo. It looks Perfect for it.

Much as I swear by my Wind jacket. I suspect it'll get rained through at some point.

  • It will, hope the race cape is better.

  • If anyone is interested in a Small classic softshell PM me.

Otherwise I'll sell it in the autumn when it's a little more relevant.

Did he ruin his Rapha kit in the collision or something? Was he not aware of the free repair service?

  • It doesn't say if it was an Adidas or rapha jersey. I'd go with the former.

  • That Tempest Festival jersey looks pretty tasty...

  • The tempest club jersey looks great, but pricey

  • Also..

Q: do you see pro's wearing merino base layers on the Tour in July?
    A: No

Q: Do you see them wearing merino base layers for the classics in March?
    A: No

what have we learned here class?

    That you are wrong?

    Tour of Flanders, 2013, base layers 12 o'clock, 1, 1.30 and 2 o'clock:

Tao Geoghan-Hart talking about his base layer in Paris-Roubaix:

And here's a picture of some pros not using base layers in the Critérium du Dauphiné today:

  • Are they merino though is the question? I think those look more like standard material?

  • Dunno my Eurosport is HD but it's not THAT HD...

  • They're not merino. Not even the Tao's Rapha base.

Dan is correct. Fox looks silly – tail between legs.

  • I saw five dead foxes on todays ride. That's not normal.

  • The idea with wearing merino, apart from a good warmth window, is that if you sweat a bit then get a puncture sans support car. It'll still keep you warm. Its nice insurance for us mortals.

  • I wore merino today in 15-18*. I was pretty warm! but was out most of the day so rain happened, standing still happened etc. Merino copes with allsorts and it's better to be a bit warm than a bit cold (when you're not racing).

  • Exactly.

Its no better than synthetics when you're shifting. Perhaps worse. But its Nice to know you'll be a shed load warmer for it, if you stop. Sitting still in a wet synthetic base can get pretty miserable.

I too got caught in some rain yesterday. I had Skins compression stuff on from head to toe. Nice for recovery tempo riding. But shite at temperature regulating. It was cold.

    repped for TRUTH ;)

  • Is the discount code on women's stuff still live? And if so anyone fancy sending it to me? Apparently I'm incapable of utfs on my emails.

  • If thermal pro team bibs fit perfectly in medium, and I like things a bit tight.

Should I size Down to small for the lightweight bibs?

Also. My thermal PT bibs are probably a little too long. Although thats never bothered me when I use them for the conditions intended. I'd like my summer bibs Shorter, and I've heard the classics are also quite long. It would make sense for the lightweights to be as short as the standard PT bibs. Is this so?

  • Continuing the base layer debate from above, i still have an unworn PT short sleeve base layer that I'm debating over returning.

I got it at 20% off, but still, is a normal synthetic baselayer worth £40? To those that have one, are they worth the dosh?

I have two PT baselayers & wear one of them on all rides on warmer days
When it's cooler I wear my Brynje merino mesh.
Not sure it's £40 worth...but it is a nice bit of kit and gets used a lot.

  • Is there a current code?

  • pt short sleeve baselayer

it's great. imma skinny 187cm but the large is still tight and long enough. wear it when running also.. today might go for merino instead as it's abt 12°c in Helsinki.
Although having multiple layers still feeling cool.

would not buy individually, but as a part of the previous -15% promotion splitted an order of three for the -20% reduction..

  • does anyone know why a merino ss base layer is £60 while the ss t-shirt is £55?

bearing in mind the tshirt has a pocket you'd have through the extra labour involved might have meant that was the more expensive of the two?

    answers on a postcard please.
