Tried a few things on in the Rapha store earlier:
Merino hoody (small) was let down by a weird hood and zip that caught far too easily. Generously sized with nice long arms.
Brevet jersey (medium) was nice but...
Merino short-sleeve Base layers (small and med) - small was perfect fit, which surprised me. Thinner, longer and softer than my Planet X stuff (which I often wear as a single outer layer)... Can't decide if the bundle makes it decent value or not.Weather in shop was mild to warm and I built up a brief sweat under the pressure of changing quickly in the single booth.

I've been eyeing this up recently. Can I ask where you picked one up from? Cheapest I've found is £120.
Likewise.
Everyone I know who has one worships it to a similar degree to the extent that I witter on about how good the PTJ is.
I think the short sleeve plus those nanoflex arm warmers is a better idea than the longsleeve; more versatile innit

I have a gore oxygen jacket, it is super waterproof, and just about fits in my back pocket - out of interest what in the Rapha back catalogue is it supposed to compete with?
Everyone raves about the PTJ, but what would it offer me the Oxygen doesn't apart from it looking a bit nicer?

hardshell; dont get it, it has no functional benefit over gore oxygen
edit: actually get it; its awesome and looks super euro! Sell me your oxygen .. Medium yeah?

Tried on a pair of the Raeburn jeans in the Cycle Club. They are no where near as nice as the standard Rapha jeans. Seem to have a different cut and thicker denim.
Bought a blue Brevet Jersey instead. They have them and old gold long sleeve jerseys in small (sold out on the website).

Equivalent would be the Rain Jacket I think, which might be a bit more stuff-able but not much.
Where as the Oxygen is designed to be waterproof first, the PTJ is designed to keep you warm, which should let all the moisture breath out. It is not a 'waterproof' jacket

6% + bonus 10% cashback at quidco for the next few days... Combined with the sale and refer a friend, not so pricey.

Anyway, I only really came here to say that the Rapha sale is fucking shite.
Meh meh meh.Disappointed to say the least - it also doesn't appear tied at all to stock levels, i.e. long sleeve pro team jersey is in stock in every size - tried it on in London and it was a great jersey but I'm not paying fucking £150/£135RaF for it.

That's a bonus of 10% of the 6% i.e. next to nothing unless yore spending thousands, in which case you don't need cashback anyway.

do you have to reproof the gabba?
I have the capo ripoff (the lombardia) and it's waterproofing wore off after about 4/5 washes. still warm when wet regardless but will probably look into reproofing soon
