I've narrowed my wish list down.
Pro Team thermal bibshorts.
knee, and arm warmers.
Merino wesh base layer.
Thick short sleeved jersey.Do Rapha have a short sleeved version of the winter jersey?
No, because then it would be a summer jersey??????
Got to be the Gabba if you want something like that?

The sleeves have a reflective trim above the elbow, which is finished with a bonded seam so you can cut off the sleeves for racing in wet but warm conditions. The Race Cape folds down small enough to fit into a Pro Team Jersey pocket.

The Classic jersey is thick 'sportswool' and with armwarmers and a merino baselayer it's good ~ 12* for me.

I'm looking at 8 - 12C.
I suppose I should pick a nice Gilet. The brevet jersey + gilet would be nice. Pricey though.

I was going to say, below 12* it's time for a gilet.
...then below that it's long sleeve Classic jersey, windstopper baselayer (Rose rather than Rapha) and a gilet – the best a man can get

Mrs. Pharoah bought me a brevet jersey in the sale as a gift. It indeed seems thicker than the other jerseys. If you sell the pink bit the cost becomes a little more palatable.

I quite like the pink gillet

I have a specific ride in mind. I'll be carrying a packable rain jacket. I think maybe a warmer base-layer than the merino mesh. Is the most versitile way to go.
I have a gore windproof T-shirt. Its an amazing item to have. But I dont like wearing it on long rides. Its simply too windproof.
I have a thick, soft, and nicely 'race fitted' soft shell for cold stuff. But once you have it on your screwed if it warms up.

Mrs. Pharoah loves the flouro pink gilet, I think this is the reason she bought me the jersey. I haven't sold it yet, am divided over this.

I too like the pink gilet.

^^^ Good arm warmers, regular merino baselayer, sportswool jersey and a light gilet. With the softshell/racecape in the back pocket?
or wear a summer/regular jersey under your winter jersey and forget the gilet.

Anyone know if the Nanoflex are better tha Rapha's arm warmers? And sizing wise?
Im a M in Raphas, whats sizae for castelli? L?

I bought some nano flex armwarmers recently, my old ones being a bit tired- and lo! The weather got better, so I have no idea- soz.
-
• #13342
IME the Nanoflex arm warmers are very good, but I've never tried Waffa warmers, so I couldn't say how they compare. On sizing, I'm a Waffa M and a Castelli L, so that sizing guide would work for me.

Rapha ones are crap and overpriced IMO
-
• #13344
Nice 1 L it is then, need some black warmers for winter/wet months and to go with the gabba...

Standard Rapha armwarmers aren't great but I love the merino ones.

Exactly.
With the thermal pro team bibs and some knee warmers.Although I have a Montane rain jacket that packs down to the size of a plum, and is mad waterproof. Sorry its not wapha.

Boast post. But my arms are nearly as thick as my legs. Pretty sure my current ones are Endura in a large, and I cant bend my arms in them.
I was thinking of trying the merino arm warmers to see if they had more stretch.

How is it for breathability?

Better cut up some 3/4 bib tights and use them as arm warmers....

Not bad. Its the sort of thing you chuck on for a downpour. So its not really designed with breathability at the top of the list. Its also not bike specific. So its probably too short at the back for normal heighted cyclists. Packs so small I keep losing it.
