  • So it depends on your jersey as to whether you need one.

    I think I don't need one.

There were loads of them being worn out today though – with favourable endorsements. They seem very popular (XL will sell out!).

  • Baselayer up to 28c+ always

  • Shorts completely different to the pro team issue here as well.

  • What's going on with his right elbow?

    Is he actually a camel?

  • right arm is at a different angle to the left.

  • WTF?! You mean his right arm always has the elbow at the front? Just like in Star Wars when they put the arms on C3PO backwards for a joke?

The Sky team are really cruel.

  • What other horrors are taking place on board the Death Star?

  • His right hand is on the flat part of the handlebar, and his left is on the brake hood, probably pressing the Di2 button under the bar tape.

  • Maybe, just maybe he is not being tortured, hard to believe but consider this.

That could be one of the clones they are rumoured to have created only this one went a bit wrong so they are using him to test equipment rather than racing him.

don't be silly, no one actually uses those.

  • Apart from dammit

I was thinking of one of these for commuting, but can't find anything online about the company, or to help decipher the somewhat cryptic size guide (a medium apparantly fits a 23" chest...)

Anyone had any experience with the product/company? Seems like a bargain for 60% off

  • I'd probably just avoid using Sport Pursuit as a whole.

Are they not good? I've been a member for months but only just started getting the emails for some reason.

    They seem to be terrible.

When their listings are mentioned on LFGSS it nearly always turns out to be end of run items, that are usually available elsewhere at a lower price.

For example, one of the older GoPro models was being sold at a big discount, but actually you could pick it up immediately on Wiggle for a bigger discount.

It seems to be predicated on a pyramid scheme and getting people to spam places.

All of that would be forgiveable if the items that they sold were actually the cheapest source for the item. They're not.

And that would be forgiveable if that acted as curators for good items. But they don't (they sell the end of runs that retailers want to clear out).

    Just steer clear.

  • I've had good experiences.
Giro LX mitts £10-15(?) cheaper than anywhere else.
    Sugino bibs too.
Trimm (obscure Czech company that likely doesn't have the budget to launch into the UK) self-inflating matt and summer sleeping bag both quality and super cheap.

  • I only see three pairs of shoes.

  • That's odd, ebay may have deleted his listings. Basically just blatant copies made from china. The shorts weren't even proper bibs, just shorts with rapha stuck on them.

That may well be true on many items they sell, and clearly their role is to clear end-of-line gear from the manufacturers. However, I've got a few things from them (Vulpine Merino T-Shirts, Carbonaut long sleeve jersey, Giro Privateer HVs) which were a lot cheaper on Sports Pursuit than anywhere else I could find. The purchases have always been pleasantly uneventful too.

I've got no links with them - just a satisfied customer.

  • The vast majority of the products offered are certainly not a particularly good deal - they did a Garmin sale and regular Wiggle price was still cheaper (even though they don't discount Garmins all that much). But occasionally there's a good offer on an end of line product. The Vulpine stuff was quite heavily discounted. And the High5 tabs are pretty cheap right now, if you're into them.

  • I've bought DZR shoes for £40 and a Catlike Whisper for £75 from them - very happy.

I did cancel an order for some Gripp gloves when they kept pushing the ship date back and they popped up as cheaply on another site with immediate shipping.

I bought the same shoes. Very happy with them. Will buy some non-slip on ones at full price eventually but for £40 these are stellar.

  • My Rapha Rising badge arrived today. Pretty cool.
