  • There's something very Golf Sale about Rapha :(

    Fixed.

  • l-r almac68, moth, don't know

  • 2nd in is Dan Craven I think.

  • Also, wheres that fellas stem??

cinelli ram. ultimate poseur integrated cockpit. I want one.

  • 3rd looks like Ben Liberson.

    /completionist

  • But it appears to be being worn by Dominique Gabellini who by all accounts is a fucking bad man on a racing bicycle.

I race with him.. he's got plenty of gob but not a lot in the legs. Don't get me wrong. he's good. But not a "bad man". I've been in breaks with him and he's blown out the back sooner or later.

  • Nor is he as gorgeous as you, Brave.

    Rapha missed a trick there.

  • Anyway, current edition of Cycle Sport has a picture of Wiggins wearing a team issue Sky Transfer Jacket.

It has your name on in it.

  • I race with him.. he's got plenty of gob but not a lot in the legs. Don't get me wrong. he's good. But not a "bad man". I've been in breaks with him and he's blown out the back sooner or later.

To give some context to how quick Dominique is it's worth bearing in mind that he's in his mid-fifties and hasn't raced properly since he had major back surgery last year. He rode professionally in France when he was in his early twenties. Although he's a good friend and I'm completely bias I'd consider him very much to be a "bad man", if I'm going half as well in twenty years I'll be very happy.

  • To add further.. I race with men of Dom's age and above regularly in the LVRC and get my legs ripped off often by them. Old does not mean they are not fast as far as I'm concerned.

I know Dom's been was well below his best last year due to back surgery.

The transfer jacket.. I saw Wiggins in the Sky one in CS but it doesn't appeal to mean.. However, I have started to flirt with it again. I dare say one of the charcoal ones, when they come back in stock, does have my name on it.

  • I certainly wouldn't argue with you about age, I got turned over by both Vince Devine and Jason White last year in the ERRL and I don't think that's going to change in 2013.

Dominique remains a "bad man" to me but he qualifies for that accolade in my mind for loads of reasons beyond his racing form.

  • I actually rather like that Wind Jacket in *chartreuse**.

    *pretentious for fluoro

  • What constitutes a bad man on a racing bicycle. I dont follow

  • Someone who crashes a lot? Indra?

  • Its etymology is in flux

  • Of badman in general, I'd defer to Busy Signal who says 'Inna di place violate get erase we nuh quarrel inna boy head lead a rest'

and if that doesn't clear it up, I'm not sure anything will.

  • Badly dressed?

  • On point, why all the fluoro in the current range? Is the aim to go a bit more mass market with the Sky tie up, or is that reading too much into it?

  • Because it sells, I assume. Even though Rapha initially traded on the subtlety & understatement of their range, I'm sure a lot of customers like the idea of (relatively) high-vis stuff that performs like Rapha (in terms of materials and cut). It makes sense, really - apart from that orange Mavic gilet and the lime green Vulpine gilet there's not that much on the market that doesn't look like a binman's jacket.

  • the rapha nodder range is summed up by the fluro backpack cover

  • I wish they called it that

  • In preparation for the inevitable purchase of a Transfer jacket who has one? Rapha say the cut is "generous" and one should size down for more fit. I'm usually small in Rapha. Would the small TJ be more like a medium? Should I go X small?

  • Go XL

  • wac

  • brave xs would be the one, even that might be too big...
