Cheery, festive story.
Perfect for a classic game of dots, too http://www.superkids.com/aweb/tools/logic/dots/

Uber hot here in Kitzbhuel. Been wearing my Pro-team, awesome multi purpose jacket whilst boarding. Nice change to bulky boarding jackets.

Girl gave me the Winter Hat as a Christmas present today. She was gonna give me the Gilet but the M was kinda tight around the pits and the L was flappy in the body. I need an M and a half...
Hat is awesome though. So warm!

Anyone have the cross Jersey? How thick is it? Warm enough to wear on a ~5°C ride with just a good thermal base layer or too thin?
-
• #10556
5 below? No, I wouldn't wear that cross top in such weather with just a base layer. There's no wind stopping properties at all, just cuts right through it. It looks the part but its hopeless in freezing conditions.
You could layer up with a base, cross, then wind proof gilet. On its own with a base layer is a no no for me.
It's a jersey more than a jacket.

Cross jersey is thinner than the classic jersey. Long sleeves but not much insulation.

Does it keep your head/ ears warm? AWESOME

Should be okay above freezing. Depends how you 'feel' the cold. The cross jersey offers no insulation, it's perforated.

Hats usually piss me off and I can't wait to rip them off my head - this one doesn't. Fit is lovely. Very soft. Toasty warm. Girl says it looks really nice. ;)
All pros in my book!

this one does't because its made out of highly advanced fabrics.
and is probably extremely comfortable too. -

got rapha soap as a christmas gift from my manager - it DOES smell like heaven!!!
btw, merry christmas everyone!

Yep. Merry Rapha day to all who frequent this thread. I got a pair of the winter socks. Quite a good gift as I'd never buy them myself. This morning was like a Rapha clothing exchange in the rusty household.
In other news. No sale yet. Anyone with inside tips as to when we can expect it?

I got a Cross Hat (as in CX, not an angry hat), which I am hoping is water proof ahead of tomorrows scheduled drenching.
-
• #10566
Nope, tis warm but not rain proof. Even the deep winter hat is not either as you would turn your skull into a pressure cooker. The deep winter one has a wind proof front panel but generally you still need to dissipate heat from your head.

Merino hat is best in the rain in my experience. Works for sheep and kept my head nice and dry as it chucked it down on said head today.
My Pro Team jacket seems very nice, looking forward to going for a ride in it.

I wore my rain jacket today, over a classic jersey, armwarmers and a baselayer.
Had cross bibs on the bottom half.
Once again, perfectly comfortable apart from my feet, which took a good 20 minutes in the shower to get blood flow back into.
I tried using some chemical heat pads today, but they simply didn't warm up- I might try giving them a thorough scrunching tomorrow to see if that encourages them.

Turns out Rapha skincare products are a great Christmas aphrodisiac. I quite enjoyed Christmas.

They've just emailed out a 25% discount code.
I don't know where this idea that they always do a sale after Christmas came from, as usually the sale is a month or two later.

So the question is whether its worth £180.
What do you lot think? And when do you usually use it?
I also think I still have a discount code for introducing someone...I wonder if you can double up on these things.
Last time I was touched surprisingly the person attached to the hand looked like something a Scouse pigeon wouldn't even eat. But happy you're feeling the seasonal love.
My gf is notoriously shite at buying me anything. Ever. Unless I bully and ostracise her for a few months after the fact. Which kind of kills all the good feelings associated with receiving a pressie.
So i bought myself a rapha baselayer 'from her' in the sale. It's nice. Surprisingly thin, but if it does what it says on the metaphorical and mountain-shaped tin, that's ok. Will go nicely with the Royce rear wheel I also bought myself 'from her'...
