On my long commute I wear padded shorts (suginos I don't like and shebeest which I love, plan on buying the pearl izumi sugar short with the 5" rise for under skirts & shorts this summer).

I don't wear knickers under them and try to rotate them between wears or wash them at night. Even having three pairs I like to wash them as soon as I've worn them, when sweaty, because ew. But for short jaunts around town, I have to say, thongs are my new undies of choice. No seams yet you still have underroos on.

Have to say I've found saddles to have more influence on comfort than underwear recently, I wear jeans and regular undies to commute anyway since its only a few miles, but since I finally found a comfortable saddle I've been able to ride in scantier things than just girl boxers again, which is nice.

Aha! Aroogah just told me that he picked up the Fizik saddle from you - I'm loving it!! That plus bullhorns were the final missing links in the ideal set up for my bike. Haven't tried riding without padded shorts yet though.

Likewise for my gf. She was instrumental in persuading me to go padded commando. She also persuaded her dad although he does put on a pair if Y's if it's a little chilly. (My gf is a daily commuter and an interested level triathlete). There are types of padding that she won't buy though to avoid chaffage.

Yeah, but it looked like I was insinuating that Vee required massive bloomers, which wasn't the case at all... I just meant that the image of the bloomers was massive. Anyway, its all fallen apart.
