  • HTC Desire HD

  • Name/model of cameraphone?

  • Sony Ericsson Cybershot, the old 5 megapixel one.

  • Excellent images. If you don't mind, please add a note with your future images that says which phone you used? It's just for comparative and informational reasons. Much appreciated.

  • Please enter this in the MAY sector of the Mobile Photos Competition - its about landscapes/cityscapes. I think yours would be very hard to beat, although I will try very hard to beat it. Still, its just a perfect image. Almost unbelievable that its from a mobile.....its that good.

  • grrrr

Thanks for the heads up, I'll make sure I enter!

Some more from Silverstone yesterday. Sony Ericsson Cybershot 5mp, on B&W setting with the contrast bumped up a bit (on the phone, not afterwards in photoshop)

  • Taken from my Wildfire, which seems to take shite photos*. I have zero photography skills though. What I was greeted with this morning. Beautiful, yet cold and wet. Like so many things in life.

Also taken on my wildfire**. My eldest (5), during lastweekends trip into the mountains. 10 mins before he decided he neded a poo. Not easy when the snows nearly a meter deep either side of you FFFUUUU etc.

(*on factory settings, auto white balance looks to be having laugh to my very amature eye)
(**doesnt seem to auto focus too well either)

  • The second one is quite good. The first could do with bit of an adjustment in an image editor.

I would have gone ahead and done it, but some mentalist on here went totally sparko when I did that before,
and I don't fancy having that raving loon on my case again. :)

Haha. Be my guest, I'd be grateful. The whole motivation behind posting them was try and get some feedback as why my phone takes such poor photos.

The second is OK. I had to take it from where I was standing, as I was strapped to a 'pulk' (sledge trailer thingie). But it is slightly out of focus, as are almost all the photos I take with this phone. Am I just being fussy?

  • smallfurry's in the frozen north though so no worries about him d-locking you on your morning commute..

I have a irresistable offer on a bike he selling, going to get him to come up here ;) (too soon?)

Frozens right though. That top photo was taken this morning after the surprise 1 foot of snow last night. I have a almost identical one from nearly 5 months ago.

  • It's never too soon with internet drama..

Looks amazing, I think if we had a foot of suprise snow now the whole country would implode and attempt to bomb the arctic. The weather is just about on tipping point, spring is around the corner.

  • In the forest on top of Nore Hill in W.Sussex. Taken on a Sony W995.

  • nokia 2730, no cropping or editing. messed up the composition of the last one, might give it another shot as I'm there often. taken last week, one of the first bright (cold) sunny days. pretty crappy camera, but didn't have anything else on me and the light was good.

This is only a basic edit, using a dismal image editor at work.

  • Hmm. Like the blue, but the Sunnmøre ALps are still washed out.

Looks like an effect Mrs Smallfurry has used in the past, when she had access to a darkroom. Brought about by developing one type of negative using techniques designed for another. I forget what the techniques called.

  • HTC desire HD

A pic from the siberian training centre near Tyumen, sun just going down after class!
