well I suppose people do need to know who the marshals are - what would your ideal marshal bib look like?
-
• #53
Not blue for a start.
red would be a bit more obvious (bit similar to the orange ride leader vest though), or even green.
personally, I'd just rather everyone to be themselves without feeling the need to pick up the yellow skyride vest and have the marshall to wear the yellow instead.

I'm still surprised we don't get paid considering how much attention Skyride get (especially with advertising and the like).

ffs - cowboyI'm still surprised we don't get paid considering how much attention Skyride get (especially with advertising and the like).
We will be paid a small fee but the money we receive will go back in to Southwark Cyclists to spend on worthy projects, donations, essential expenses and other more noble things than silk scarves, crochet mitts etc. -

Nothing else matter more than silk scarves and mitts.

I'm marshalling the ride from Cutty Sark to Tower Bridge at 11 am and the return ride.
I'll probably do a turn of the route and then slouch off to Look Mum No Hands until I'm needed again.
As for getting paid - The info I got said that there will be a Marshall hospitality area; for once my name is on the list and I'm getting in. Do cycling shoes count as trainers, though?

Me and my Southwark crew will be leading feeder rides from Peckham Rye (Cafe on the Park) to Southwark Bridge at 10.30am and 12pm. Join us if you are coming from the South East!
How suitable do you think this will be for a very, VERY nervous cyclist? My girlfriend has no confidence on on roads, but I might be able to convince her to come. Will you be leading the group down back streets, and at what sort of speed?

Can we take bikes on trains? Gf is too scared to cycle on from Forest Hill.

This biggest challenge is the stopping and starting with all the other wobbly cyclists. It's very slow but you have to concentrate and it's not for everyone! That said you could always join for a bit and peel off if you're not having a good time.
I wouldn't be surprised, people can actually see you instead of being invisible with that stupid blue marshals vest.
