• Why should I get no fun from doing the leg work?
Flaming thickos is what makes my day go by..

dont be bitter hippy, lifes too short :)

  • If you search, and then add your question to an exixting thread that thread becomes more useful for the next person. If you only have to read 3/4 threads about a topic the search function becomes more useful.

I have used other forums and the searches are shit. type in word or prase and get 7/8 pages of shit to read through.

UingTFS is beneficial to newbies and oldies and for future generations, it could also stop global warming.

  • i agree completely! this place is definitely less friendly towards new posters than it used to be. i think it's a shame.

I think the forum would be better if a bit more patience was shown to people who are stuck with a problem they want help with.

at the moment the attitude seems to be a bit Captain Mainwairing...

++1 how difficult is to just be friendly and steer people that are a bit lost, in the right direction?...

It can be daunting for a newbie on a large forum such as this...

that's something this place could do with a bit more of, friendly helpful people..

what ever happened to good manners?

the forum is, what the forum is...

those who jump in and then jump out again looking for the quickest possible route to get an answer to a question (that may have been asked many times over), or those wanting to sell/buy a bike in the shortest time imaginable, generally get the short end of the stick.

Those that use the massive social aspect of the forum (rides, drinks, t-shirts, spotted) etc get more rope/time with which to take the piss, derail, tell people to utfs.

Its not so hard, to spend a bit of time and get a feel for what the forum is, more time spent looking and reading makes for less time getting het up over how aggressive/unhelpful/sarcastic posters are here.

Most posters are generally helpful, and will give you an answer before they derail, others wanting to get into the forum spirit, will just derail immediately because they see others doing it and assume its the norm, obviously not having read the umpteen posts, in the myriad threads where people give an informed answer and leave it at that.

The forum grows ever faster and those of us who spend time on it, need to if not police, at least set some sort of example. Each one teach one, people play the fool, and act the arse, because they're bored, letting loose their inner troll or just following the example of everyone else. If you want the forum to be friendlier/more helpful, then you'll have to set that example and not just send out a plea into the forum hinterlands, hoping others hear you and agree. More participation is required from those that feel strongly about it, engage with it and maybe it'll change, just adding a plus one to someones comments changes nothing...

YouTube - RAZZY & THE NEIGHBORHOOD KIDS --- I HATE HATE.

  • He was fine until you started visiting! That said, I think we need to have words with him.

I have not been to Souths for well over a month. Which was the last time I saw him.

    I rest my case.... ;)

  • Could we create an newbie safe haven. One where flaming is prohibited? Could this work? Is it even possible. Maybe like a bolt-on to the nursery.

Children Newbs are the future (tm).

Give them a false sence of security, then suddenly feck them over.

    I like it!

  • i think it must be because there's a couple of pedantic teachers in the common room discussing spelling and punctuation as if the world depended on it.
if you were writing legal documents or instructions for building a nuclear device it's quite important but this is a forum about bikes and shit.

yeah. I just ignore every thread regarding spelling and grammar. If I wanted a lecture on that bollox, I would go back to Uni and study English

Might useful to include a side note, on how to remove and replace the tyre by Edscoble ;)

  • dont be bitter hippy, lifes too short :)

Exactly. That's why I've got to fit as much flaming into every day as I can, coz today might be my last! ;)

  • Balki, what do you think?

FFS! Theres already a thread for this!

Children Newbs are the future (tm).

I am absolutely ropable. I now have "The Greatest Love of All" in my head.

Bonus video lesson with that one too :)

I think you'll find it cannot be abbreviated and should be spelt out in full as university.

    ;)

  • I have no problem helping newbs especially in areas I feel I have some experience in (which is not much really).

What mildly irritates me is impatient members with no manners, especially when they don't bother to thank the person who helped* them. Poor show.

*when and if that happens :)

  • Should we have some kind of specific avatar for Noobs. So that members give them a wider birth and don't go hell for leather?

    Something along the lines of...

    or

And Balki could have this as his avatar...

  • I suggested stabilisers already but got no love.

How come I have to wear the police helmet?

  • A black and White Rudy project helmet.
Wow, they would match my shades and I need a helmet for the track

  • I've found the forum to be quite friendly. The people who get a rough time perhaps haven't taken the time to get much sense of the board before they've jumped in. That said, there's still no need to be mean. Unless you're going to be funny while doing it.

    Hipster/Racist delete as required

  • Pistanator and Donut!, unless you both keep your shit off the forum both of you will be banned. Your petty graceless squabbling and digs is pretty pathetic to have to witness. I'm tired of the little digs you both make. What is this, a freaking playground? Are you both 7 or something?

Humor fail (on my part) I was trying to be light hearted, sorry.

I'll be in the sand pit if I'm needed!
