Which Tyres?

I've just been informed by the bike shop that my panaracer gravel kings are too shredded to convert to tubeless after only a couple of months :/

I'm looking for a set of fairly slick, 700c, 35+mm, tubeless tyres with a tan sidewall. I've looked for

• wtb exposure (can't find any in uk)
  
• Challenge Strada bianca (can't find any in uk)
  
• Panaracer gravel kings (no because of current experience)
  
• Rene Herse bon jon pass (£90 each wtf)
  
• Those Planet x ones (all unavailable)
  
  

Anyone know any others that might fit the bill and be available?

I've since found that Challenge have 36 tanwalls on their website, but I've not yet been able to talk myself into believing that c.£140 (+special sovereignty customs / vat) is a reasonable thing to do.

edit: remember a few years ago, 150 EUR for a set of tyres would have gone through the exchange rate conversions quite nicely... le sigh.

I've got these in 38c and they measure about 36c on 20mm internal rims. Really like them, originally purchased for a gravel only wheelset, they are now used for commuting and winter road riding too.

Has anyone seen some GP5K S TR unicorn tyres in stock anywhere? I thought they were all made in Europe, so don't understand the crap stock scenario.

Supply chain issues are not geographical. There are raw material shortages all over the place.
But yeah, GP5000 TR are out of stock at the distributor so unless there's a shop with a pair they haven't sold in a couple of months, you won't find any for a few weeks yet.

My GP5000 TL front tyre seems to keep having loose threads coming out of it. Is it going to explode and kill me? Seems to hold air but concerned something is coming apart.

I decided to switch from two tubed tyresets (previously Veloflex Master for summer and Vittoria Rubino Pro Control for bad weather period) to one tubeless.
Which tubeless road tyres in 700x32c would you recommend? I am not going to race, I would like it to be comfortable, but pleasant to ride at the same time. So far in reasonable prices in Poland/Germany (about 85 EUR for pair with shipping) I found Conti GP5000 TL, Goodyear Eagle F1 and Pirelli Cinturato Velo. Tanwall would be welcome but even harder to find in good price.

I've had the Pirelli Cinturatos, and loved them. Lightish, good grip in the wet, and set up tubeless quite easily.

I absolutely love the Michelin Power Road Tubeless tyres in 32mm. They're supremely comfy, quick and incredibly durable. Really can't fault them.

I have a set of teravail 38 going spare as well.

P-Zero Race TLR (not SL, which is the "real" race version) have been good to me, on my second pair. Doesn't last a lot: Started puncturing roughly after 3000 km of use, had to change 3 punctures (in about 400k) later because of peer pressure (my friends are assholes)

I have smaller Gp5000’s on one bike and can’t really fault them, they’re quick and seem to be pretty robust. I’d have bigger gp5000’s on the other bike if the S TR version was available anywhere.

You mean the Power Road TLR? I found them in good price at Mantel. I heard that they are quite hard to mount and differing opinions on sidewall durability, how is it for you?

How comfortable are they? I saw that on BRR they got impressive result for such a durable tyre, but heard about them being 'wooden', after riding Veloflexes with latex tubes I would like to still have some comfort on the road ;)

They mounted really easily, far more puncture proof and durable than the GP 5000s I had. I put over 5000 miles on my last pair before I changed them and didn't suffer a single puncture. I only changed them because I thought I should. They're also more than fast enough and don't feel any slower than the GP 5000s.
